Here's everything you need to know about Flyers vs Hurricanes on Wednesday, Nov. 15 — our expert NHL prediction and betting pick for today.

Two hot teams will go head-to-head on TNT when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Philadelphia Flyers to kick off a four-game NHL slate on Wednesday night.

Both sides played their last games on Saturday, so they'll be well-rested. And both are coming off good road wins — for the Flyers, a solid 4-2 showing against the tough Los Angeles Kings, while the Hurricanes picked up a 4-0 shutout in Tampa.

Just three points separate these teams in the Metropolitan Division standings. But on the ice, the hosts hold a distinct edge — and banked a 3-2 win in Philadelphia back on Oct. 30

Here's why bettors should expect a similar outcome on Wednesday.

Philadelphia Flyers

After knocking out a pair of weekend wins against the Ducks and Kings in Southern California, the Flyers are back to .500, with a 7-7-1 record. They scored a whopping 10 goals in those two games, including the first two of the season from embattled Morgan Frost, and got wins from Samuel Ersson and Cal Petersen while Carter Hart was battling a case of food poisoning.

Hart is back to full health and will be set to step into the cage in Raleigh on Wednesday. His numbers for the season are some of the best of his career, with a .913 save percentage and 2.52 GAA, but he's hovering right around neutral in goals saved above expected.

The Flyers have also been battling some injuries on their blue line. Rasmus Ristolainen and Marc Staal both practiced on Tuesday but aren't expected to be ready for action against Carolina. Victor Mete was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Tuesday after seeing his first NHL action of the year in Los Angeles. That suggests that Egor Zamula will be back in action after sitting out the second half of the back-to-back.

Philadelphia coach John Tortorella doesn't usually like to make many changes to a winning lineup. With Frost having played six of the last seven games and finally finding the scoresheet, expect him to stay in the mix.

The Flyers are playing with good defensive structure, with an expected goals share of 53.98%, and are tied with the Kings for the third-fewest shots allowed, averaging 27.5 shots per game. One area where they're struggling is on the power play, which now sits at 0-for-25 over the last seven games.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have also been idle since Saturday when they . That night, they skated out of Amalie Arena with a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on the back of Pyotr Kochetkov's first shutout of the year and a complete team game where they outshot their hosts 32-22.

Despite the absence of goaltender Frederik Andersen, the Hurricanes are now 6-2-0 in their last eight games and a perfect 4-0-0 on home ice. Their possession game is typically solid, at 55.71% percent, they allow the fewest shots on goal at 26.0, and they're efficient on special teams.

Other than Andersen, Carolina is healthy, and no major changes are expected after Saturday's strong showing in Tampa. The team practiced both Monday and Tuesday, with goalie Antti Raanta taking a maintenance day on Tuesday.

Carolina is currently in a very light part of its schedule, with just three games in eight days. If Rod Brind'Amour wants to ride the hot hand and go back to Kochetkov, he shouldn't have a problem doing so.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Carolina opened as a -240 favorite on the moneyline, which equates to implied odds of winning of just over 70%. That's a big lean in a sport with as much random activity as hockey, but Carolina's a good team that's healthy, rested, confident and virtually unbeatable on home ice. The Flyers also haven't won against Carolina since Nov. 12, 2021, so the oddsmakers' faith is well-placed in this situation.

With Carter Hart also in good form, this game projects as a potentially low-scoring affair, so the best betting value for this contest lies with the total. Hop on Under 6 at plus money at BetMGM or DraftKings and stand by for a goaltending clinic.
