Here's everything you need to know about the Arizona Coyotes vs. Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, February 25 – our expert NHL prediction and pick.

The Arizona Coyotes are going through a tough time right now, losing 11 in a row. For most of the season, they held strong and stuck near the playoff race, but now they’re 10 points away from the final wild-card spot.

Winnipeg has played extremely well since coming back from the All-Star break. The Jets have won five of their last six and hold the best winning percentage in the Western Conference.

Arizona Coyotes

Clayton Keller continues to shine as a star for the Coyotes, posting nearly a point per game. Along with him, Matias Maccelli, Nick Schmaltz and Lawson Crouse are critical parts to this team. Crouse, especially, is having a really solid year, and may be on pace to setting a new career high in goals and points.

Arizona’s 5-on-5 play is underwhelming. For a team that started off hot, it’s now playing to a 23rd-best 45.85 xGF% (expected goals) and a 2.53 xGA/60.

Luckily, the Coyotes’ special teams are still holding up well. The power play scores at a 21.7% clip and the penalty kill has done just OK at 78%.

Despite this rough stretch for the Coyotes, goaltender Connor Ingram has been a great story in the NHL. He spent a lot of time in the minors and has now received one heck of an opportunity as Arizona’s starter. We’ll most likely see him in net Sunday, and he’s played to a solid .912 SV% and a 10.7 goals saved above expected (GSAx).

What an addition Sean Monahan has been for the Jets. In seven games, he has five goals, including a hat trick, while simultaneously boosting the power play. In addition, Mark Scheifele is up to his usual standard at nearly a point per game while leading scorer Kyle Connor won the game Friday with his overtime heroics.

Winnipeg’s 5-on-5 play has been strong offensively, but weak defensively. Over the past month, it ranks 11th in expected goals with a 52.36 xGF% and 23rd with a 2.89 xGA/60.

Before the addition of Monahan, the Jets were scoring on the power play 15% of the time. With Monahan, they have doubled that, scoring at a 31.6% pace. The penalty kill situation is a bit different, as Winnipeg has continued to provide suboptimal numbers there.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Connor Hellebuyck in net again. The former Vezina Trophy winner is as durable as they come. Hellebuyck is having himself a stellar season, posting a .925 SV% and a league-leading 26.6 GSAx.

Betting Pick & Prediction

For this game, the first thing I’m looking to is the home/away records. Winnipeg is dominant in front of its home fans with a 19-7-3 record, while Arizona is abysmal on the road, going 8-15-4.

It’s clear who’s hot and who’s not. In chilly Manitoba, the Jets are on fire, while the Coyotes are struggling mightily to find any momentum.

In five of their last six games, the Coyotes have fallen by two or more goals, and the Jets have managed to win by two or more goals in three of their last four.

I don’t think this game will be close whatsoever, as I’ll be backing the Jets big.

Pick: Winnipeg Jets -1.5 at +100
