The Seattle Kraken host the Colorado Avalanche in the nightcap of Monday's mini two-game slate. This game will already be the third and final meeting between these two clubs this season, with each team claiming a victory in the first two matchups.

Will Colorado win the rubber match, or can Seattle defend its home ice? Let's preview the NHL odds, as well as my Avalanche vs. Kraken betting pick and prediction for Monday, November 13.

Colorado Avalanche

Simply put, I don't see the Avs losing three games in a row, especially considering that those opponents are the St. Louis Blues and tonight's Kraken once again.

At 5-on-5, Colorado ranks third in the league in expected goals scored per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and 13th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60). This means that their expected goal differential per 60 is good for the fourth-best mark in hockey, which puts them substantially higher than Seattle, who sit 19th in that category.

I also suspect a bounce-back performance for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev is in-store, who is slated to get the nod between the pipes for Colorado on Monday. Georgiev is coming off a tough performance against the Blues, a game in which he surrendered six goals on 28 shots for a .786 SV%.

He's a better goaltender than his season stats suggest, posting a .887 SV% and 3.29 GAA through 11 starts. Perhaps a matchup against Seattle is exactly what Georgiev needs to turn things around, considering he boasts a .945 SV% and 1.98 GAA through two career starts against them.

Seattle Kraken

I mentioned above that the Kraken rank 19th in the league in expected goal differential per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, which is far below Colorado's ranking. This gap is mainly due to Seattle's sluggish offense to begin the campaign.

At 5-on-5, the Kraken rank 28th in xGF/60, which puts them below teams such as the Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues. That is not the type of company that Seattle wants to be amongst following a playoff-caliber season.

The only success they have had offensively this year is on special teams, which is going to be a problem against a Colorado penalty kill that ranks seventh in the league. Not only will the Avs boast the offensive advantage, but they will also likely possesses an edge in net as Philipp Grubauer is slated to get the start for the Kraken.

Over his past nine regular season starts against the Avs, Grubauer owns a .886 SV% and 3.07 GAA.

Betting Pick & Prediction

I think there is still value in backing Colorado on the moneyline at -156, so you can always go that route if you prefer. However, I would rather take a shot at laying -1.5 at +152 via FanDuel.

Seven of the Avs' eight wins this season have come by at least a two-goal margin. On the other hand, six of the Kraken's 10 losses have come by a minimum of a two-goal deficit.

Better offense, better blue line and arguably better goaltender. Give me Colorado -1.5 at +152.

Pick: Avalanche -1.5 (+152) | Play to +135
