Here are my NHL Anytime Goalscorers for Wednesday, February 28 – my expert predictions and picks for players to score tonight.

For tonight's abbreviated two-game NHL slate, I've identified two players for my NHL anytime goalscorer picks, and I believe all both offer value for bettors.

Betting on NHL anytime goalscorers is simple enough: If your player scores a goal at any point in the game, your bet is a winner. MLB has its dingers; the NHL has its anytime goalscorers. And with both types of player props, the bets usually come with plus-money odds attached to them, so they're a favorite among all types of sports bettors.

Check out all of the analysis with my favorite anytime goalscorer predictions for tonight's NHL games below.

The first game of Wednesday's NHL doubleheader features a Metropolitan Division tilt with the New York Rangers hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets. As has been the case over the past few seasons, Columbus is one of the best teams to fade defensively.

This season, the eam ranks 31st in the league in goals allowed per game and 30th in shots on goal allowed per game. Based on the Jackets' underlying metrics, positive regression is unlikely as they rank 29th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60) at 5-on-5.

That brings us to New York forward Chris Kreider, who has been a shooting machine recently with 35 shots over his past eight games (4.4 per game). Good things happen when you get pucks on net, which is why he has scored six goals over that eight-game stretch.

This stretch is likely to continue against the Blue Jackets, a team he has dominated over the past decade. Kreider has now amassed 15 goals over his past 19 games against Columbus.

A big part of this success stems from the fact that a big part of his offensive production comes on special teams. That is problematic for the Jackets considering that they rank 25h in penalty-kill percentage this year.

Pick: Chris Kreider anytime goalscorer (+125 at FanDuel)

Pavel Buchnevich (+230)

The St. Louis Blues travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers in the second half of Wednesday's NHL doubleheader. Goaltender Stuart Skinner is slated to guard the cage for Edmonton and could be a good fade candidate considering his dip in production this month.

Over his past seven games, Skinner is 3-3-1 with a fade-worthy .874 SV% and 4.01 GAA. This troubling trend bodes well for St. Louis forward Pavel Buchnevich, the team's leading goal scorer.

Like Kreider, Buchnevich enters this contest in particularly good form with six goals over his past six games. Not only does he lead the Blues in goals, but he also leads the team in power-play goals.

I mention this fact because the Oilers rank 23rd in the league in penalty minutes taken per game, which means Buchnevich will get his chances on the man advantage. Not only did Buchnevich score in his last game against the Oilers just a few weeks ago, but he has now potted three goals over his past three games against them.

Finally, we are catching a great price on Buchnevich to find the back of the net at +230, a line that is 10-25 cents longer than the rest of the market at the time of writing.

Pick: Pavel Buchnevich anytime goalscorer (+230 at FanDuel)
