Saturday Olympic Player Props

Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal Scorer (+110)

Germany faces Latvia to open Saturday’s men’s Olympic hockey action. The two teams faced very different tests in their opening games. Germany secured a 3-1 victory over Denmark, while Latvia was routed 5-1 by the United States.
This matchup suggests a more competitive game for Latvia, but it still faces a steep challenge against an improving German national team. Offensively, Germany is led by standout NHL forwards Leon Draisaitl and Tim Stutzle.
They combined for all three goals in Germany’s win over Denmark and are likely to spearhead the offense again.
Starting with Draisaitl, he is one of the best forwards in the world, regardless of nationality. He finished runner-up in last year’s Hart Trophy voting after a 52-goal season that led the league.
Draisaitl continues to produce, scoring 10 goals over his past 14 games, including Olympic play.
Pick: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal Scorer (+110, bet365)

Tim Stutzle Anytime Goal Scorer (+155)

Like Draisaitl, Stutzle also entered the Olympics in strong form. He scored nine goals over his final 12 games before the Olympic break and added two more in Germany’s opener against Denmark.
The good news for Draisaitl and Stutzle is that they are likely to continue producing against a Latvia team that surrendered five goals to the United States.
Latvian goaltender Arturs Silovs appeared in relief in that game, allowing one goal on six shots for a .833 save percentage. Latvia is likely to turn to him on Saturday.
Over his past 16 NHL starts, Silovs owns a .877 save percentage and a 3.26 goals-against average.
Pick: Tim Stutzle Anytime Goal Scorer (+155, bet365)

Auston Matthews Anytime Goal Scorer (-115)

The United States closes Saturday’s action against Denmark as a substantial 3.5-goal favorite. If the U.S. wins by three or four goals, Auston Matthews is likely to be involved.
He scored once on four shots in the opener against Latvia. Matthews remains one of the game’s premier scorers, tallying 13 goals over his past 21 games, including Olympic play.
Meanwhile, Frederik Andersen is slated to start in net for Denmark. He is enduring one of the most difficult seasons of his professional career, posting a .871 save percentage through 22 starts with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Pick: Auston Matthews Anytime Goal Scorer (-115, bet365)
