The Colorado Buffaloes were one of the most hyped-up teams in the country in 2023 after Hall of Famer Deion Sanders took over as head coach. But Colorado went just 4-8 in 2023 despite a 3-0 start. And for the second straight season, Colorado will showcase a new-look roster shaped primarily by the transfer portal. Despite a 4-8 overall record, Colorado was one of the better teams against the spread in the country last season, going 7-4-1 ATS. The Buffaloes won outright against TCU in the season opener as 21-point underdogs and also notched notable covers against USC and Utah.

With spread bets, underdogs don’t have to win the game, just lose by less than the spread; favorites, meanwhile, have to win by more than the spread for their tickets to win.

Colorado Over/Unders

Instead of betting on how much they’ll win or lose by, you could also bet on how many points the Buffaloes and their opponents will score collectively. This is called an over/under (or totals) bet. Oddsmakers pick a number, and you can bet whether the teams will score more (over) or less (under) than that many points.

Let’s say the total, which is the number you bet over or under on, is set at 57 points for a Colorado at UCLA game. If the game finished 42-35, then over bettors would win since there were 77 points scored. Under bettors would win if there were 56 or fewer points scored, and if there were exactly 57 points, then the bet is a push (tie) and both over and under bettors are refunded.

Colorado Moneylines

While spread bets depend on the amount of the victory, moneyline bets are a bit simpler, as all that matters is which team wins. Moneyline bets on the team expected to lose, the underdog, pay out more than bets on the team expected to win.

For example, Colorado beating Stanford as a +285 underdog means that a $100 bet on the Buffaloes profited $285. If Colorado had been -285 favorites and won, a $285 bet on the moneyline would profit $100.
