Minnesota Timberwolves vs Philadelphia 76ers Preview
The Timberwolves aren't overly motivated to win games down the homestretch of the regular season, with Minnesota pretty much locked into either the 5-seed or 6-seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
So, with the Wolves playing on a back-to-back tonight, and still trying to ramp up for the playoffs, it makes sense for them to slowly ease Anthony Edwards back into action.
The Wolves kept Edwards sidelined yesterday against the Pistons — but that was very much a schedule-based decision. I don't think Edwards is legitimately injured, and I am expecting him back in the lineup tonight.
Honestly, even if Edwards doesn't play tonight, I like the way Minnesota has played without Edwards lately, specifically how they did yesterday. I thought they played the Pistons really tough in that game.
On the other side, the 76ers will be without Joel Embiid tonight — and it's not a guessing game. We know that he's not going to play.
The Timberwolves have been really good against the Eastern Conference. They have won 68% of their games against the East, which is higher than their overall win percentage.

The Sixers are 4.5-point home favorites tonight, but they are not great in these spots at 44% ATS — which is one of the worst marks in the NBA.
Adem Bona draws the start for Philly, and Julius Randle should be able to get him off his feet. Bona will likely find himself in some foul trouble, and that will make life easier on all the Wolves' players that want to cut to the rim.
The Sixers don't have a ton of elite on-ball stoppers for big, explosive wings. So, if Edwards is out there, he's going to torch this team. This is a really tough matchup for Philly. I like the Wolves +4.5 tonight.
