For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into three hitters in Cal Raleigh, Seiya Suzuki, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB playoff games on Wednesday, October 8.
MLB Player Props for October 8, 2025
- Cal Raleigh Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, BetMGM)
- Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 Total Bases (+165, Fanatics)
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115, BetMGM)
Mariners vs Tigers Player Props: Cal Raleigh Over 1.5 Total Bases
The Tigers dropped Game 3 last night, 8-4, and are now on the brink of elimination. Casey Mize will get the start, but he could have a very short leash. The books reflect that, with Mize's outs recorded line being a very short 9.5 today. Instead of fading Mize directly, I'll be targeting the Mariners' All-Star catcher and for some, the AL MVP.
Raleigh entered the playoffs top five in home runs (60), RBI (125), and OPS (.948). In this series, he is 6-for-13 (.471) with a home run and three RBI. His home run last night extended the Mariners lead to 8-1, which seemed insignificant at the time, but the Tigers' rally in the bottom half of the ninth would have been more meaningful without it.
Raleigh is 0-for-2 with a walk against Mize in his career. However, Mize ranked in the 36th percentile or worse in barrel rate and average velocity. Raleigh ranked in 79th percentile in average exit velocity and 99th percentile in barrel rate, so the advantage should be in his favor. Raleigh has two hits in two of the three first games as well as a double in Game 2.
If Mize does get pulled early as expected, that means several innings of the Tigers' bullpen, which I expect to turn into Mariners' scoring opportunities. As a result, I expect Raleigh to record two total bases for the fourth consecutive game.
Brewers vs Cubs Player Props: Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 Total Bases
The Cubs are down 0-2 after a pair of decisive losses in Milwaukee. However, Suzuki continues to slug in the postseason. In Game 2, the Japanese masher helped the Cubs jump out to an early lead with a three-run shot in the first inning. All four of his hits (two doubles and two homers) in the postseason have gone for extra bases and he has a .667 slugging percentage.
Today, he will face Quinn Priester. The 25-year-old Milwaukee righty had a breakthrough season, going 13-3 with a 3.32 ERA and 132 strikeouts. However, he allowed 17 doubles and 11 home runs to right-handed hitters in the regular season, and this will be the first start of his postseason career.
Suzuki is 3-for-10 with a home run off Priester, and he is +650 on DraftKings to go yard tonight. Dating back to the regular season, he has recorded two total bases in nine of his last 10 games. I like that trend to continue tonight.
Blue Jays vs Yankees Player Props: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases
The Yankees forced a Game 4 with a 9-6 comeback victory last night. That also means we get to bet on Guerrero against the Yankees for at least one more game. Yesterday, I backed Guerrero for two total bases and he cashed in the first inning with another home run. He finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.
Guerrero has two hits and a home run in each of the first three games in this series. He is +500 on BetMGM tonight for another long ball, but it's worth noting that he didn't homer off of Schlittler in the regular season. If Schlittler matches his Wild Card round performance against the Red Sox in Game 4, Guerrero and his teammates will be in for a long night.
Schlitter allowed six earned runs in 6 and 2/3 innings in two starts against the Blue Jays this season. Guerrero is 4-for-5 against him with all singles. Even if Schlitter does have better luck than his teammates in keeping Guerrero in the park, two singles will get him two total bases for the fourth straight game.
