Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-150)

We took the under on Chris Flexen's strikeouts on Monday at 3.5, but the game was rained out and he'll now instead start the first game of today's doubleheader between the Nationals and White Sox.

I think this change in circumstance means there's a higher floor for Flexen's pitch count, as the White Sox will likely be looking for length in an effort to save the bullpen for Game 2, if possible.

That said, I still like this under, especially at the 4.5 we're getting now.

Flexen is coming off an eight-strikeout game against the Tampa Bay Rays, but if you look at the numbers, that total was mostly a fluke.

The Rays only made contact with 36% of pitches outside of the zone. That's not really normally part of Flexen's game as he's more of a contact pitcher, and the Nationals are going to be a much tougher matchup.

I prefer getting the extra strikeout here and spending the -150 juice on this under, as I'm projecting this number at around -210.

Pick: Chris Flexen Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-150)
