Reds vs Rangers Preview

Our own Sean Zerillo projects over 8.2 runs for Friday's Reds-Rangers game, yet the consensus line is still sitting around 7.5. That means we're showing about a 2.5% edge against the market on the Over.

Reds vs Rangers MLB Pick to Bet

The Rangers' offense is waking up. They’ve posted a 136 wRC+ against right-handed pitching early in the season, good four fourth among MLB lineups.

They should mash Brady Singer, a soft-tossing sinkerballer who doesn’t force enough groundballs to overcome how many barrels he allows (nearly 10% rate).

It’ll be tougher for the Reds to score, given MacKenzie Gore is an excellent young southpaw with elite stuff.

However, neither bullpen inspires much confidence (both rank below-average in reliever xFIP), and while each team had an off-day yesterday, both staffs worked hard over the past week.

Pick: Over 7.5
