Cubs vs Astros Preview, Parlay Picks
Friday's series opener between the Cubs and Astros features two rookie starting pitchers.
We’re backing Brandon Walter to eclipse 16.5 Outs.
Despite getting shelled for seven runs in his last outing, he still managed to pitch six complete innings. He’s now generated exactly 18 outs in three straight starts.
While he may not completely shut down a solid Cubs offense, the number still feels playable.
Even if the Cubs get to him early, the Astros have shown a tendency to leave him in when the bullpen has been heavily used, and the Astros had to rely heavily on their bullpen across the past two games against the Phillies.
We’re also adding a small negative correlation play with Cubs ML.
Chicago has the edge both on the mound and at the plate tonight.
Both teams enter this matchup riding small winning streaks, but the Cubs should emerge on top with the better pitcher and more reliable offense.
