- Over in 6/10 games on the season, but recently over in 5/L6 games - Facing the Padres today who rank 10th in walks vs LHP - Falter gave up 2 walks vs this Padres lineup just a few weeks ago and he pitched pretty well in that game, so there is some upside here with the Padres getting to see Falter again this soon. - Similar to my Springs lean I had yesterday, we got a guy that has struggled of late with walks and a lineup that walks at a top 10 rate in baseball. Good value line here.

Both teams averaging 5.2 runs/game in 5-game stretch pre-series. Friday’s 3-2 score was misleading – PIT outhit SD 7-3. Cease struggling – 1-3, 4.58 ERA, no wins in last 9 starts. Allowed 3 ER in 5 IP vs ATL, 2 ER in 4 IP vs PIT earlier this month. .243 BAA, up from .200 last year. Falter worse on road – 5.09 ERA, 1.65 WHIP in 5 road starts. Both SPs unlikely to go deep. Pirates bullpen a problem – 4.42 ERA (23rd), 5.02 ERA last 3 games, WHIP 1.50. If Falter exits early, damage could pile up. Padres pen solid (3.03 ERA), but gave up 10 to MIA recently – not invincible.
