The Miami Dolphins (1-1) and Seattle Seahawks (2-0) square off on Sunday in NFL Week 3 at 4:05 p.m. ET from Lumen Field in Seattle. The game will be broadcast live on CBS and can be streamed on Paramount+ and YouTube TV.
The Seahawks are consensus 4-point favorites over the Dolphins (Seahawks -4) with the game total set at over/under 41.5 points scored between the two teams combined. Seattle is a -205 favorite on the moneyline, while Miami is +170 to pull off the upset.
The Dolphins opened the season with a 20-17 comeback win over the Jaguars but were devastated last week against the Bills 31-10, as Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion and will be out for the foreseeable future. Skylar Thompson will step in at quarterback for the Dolphins. The Seahawks, meanwhile, have taken care of business against the Broncos and Patriots and are 2-0.
Let's get into my Dolphins vs. Seahawks predictions for Sunday afternoon and my NFL picks for Week 3.

Miami Dolphins vs. Seattle Seahawks NFL Week 3 Preview
The Dolphins will be desperate to bounce back from a Thursday Night Football loss to the Bills. I didn’t love the game plan from Mike McDaniel and thought Miami would be more prolific in the passing game than it was. Instead, Buffalo exposed the Dolphins early.
I expect McDaniel and the Dolphins to be better here. Obviously, there’s no Tua Tagovailoa, but an extended week and more rest should benefit Miami as it makes a quarterback change.
Skylar Thompson does at least have some experience as an NFL starter. He didn’t win the game, but he performed admirably in a playoff game two seasons ago in Buffalo. The atmosphere in Seattle shouldn’t overwhelm him. I don’t see as big of a dropoff from Tagovailoa to him as the market does.
Miami just lost its quarterback and Seattle is coming off of an overtime win across the country as a favorite. The Seahawks are not in an envious spot coming into this game, although they’ll be happy to not face Tagovailoa.
Seattle has faced Bo Nix in his first career start and then Jacoby Brissett. While Thompson isn’t necessarily an upgrade over either of those quarterbacks, the playmakers around him are better than the Broncos or Patriots have. Miami has speed and talent that can put the offense in positions to succeed even without Tagovailoa.
Also, running back Kenneth Walker III seems unlikely to play because of an oblique injury, which will hinder the Seahawks’ ground game.
The first game for a backup quarterback is the one you’d want to bet on him in theory. Miami will be up for this game and eager to bounce back. I also think defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver will dial some things up to put Geno Smith under pressure.
I’m taking the points and betting on the Dolphins.
Pick: Dolphins +4.5
