The Dallas Cowboys (2-2) and Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) will face off tonight on NFL Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET from Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on NBC, and the game can be streamed on Peacock and YouTube TV.

The Steelers are consensus 2.5-point favorites over the Cowboys on the spread (Steelers -2.5). The over/under is currently set at 43.5 points. The Steelers are -140 to win outright, while the Cowboys are +118 to pull off the upset.

The Cowboys won 20-15 last week over the Giants. Dak Prescott has been solid with 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 4 games this season, but the Cowboys running game is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. The Steelers lost 27-24 last week against the Colts, their first defeat of the season. Justin Fields has performed well this season with a 98 passer rating while averaging 7.6 yards per attempt.

In the latest injury news, Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs is active tonight after being questionable with an ankle injury, while Dallas will be without Micah Parsons and Brandin Cooks.

Cowboys vs. Steelers Sunday Night Football Predictions

This is a classic Mike Tomlin spot. The Steelers are coming off of a loss and get a matchup at home. Not just that, but it’s in primetime against the Cowboys. I expect Tomlin will have his team ready to go here.

I lean toward the under here because the main reason I like Pittsburgh is because of the defense. The juice especially shows up in these spots for the Steelers on that side of the ball.

The Steelers are beat up on the offensive line, having lost multiple starters, but I think they’ll get some key players back. Zach Frazier is a name who has stepped up there and helped fill in gaps.

Offensively, the Steelers want to run the ball. That has been helped by the fact that Justin Fields has played well, exceeding all of my expectations. He can use his legs to extend drives and is making smart throws, picking and choosing the right times when to get the ball downfield to George Pickens. He has a really strong command of this offense.

This matchup is especially good because the Cowboys cannot stop the run. Dallas is 31st in line yards, 31st in rush efficiency and 31st in EPA per rush. The Cowboys can't stop the run at all and will not have DeMarcus Lawrence or Michael Parsons.

Parsons is one of the most valuable defensive players in the NFL. Looking at that front seven and defensive line, I don’t see much without him. This Dallas defense is giving up a ton of explosive runs, which is where the Steelers offense has thrived.

Offensively, the Cowboys are giving Dak Prescott no help at all with an inability to run the ball. The backfield is unsettled and the offensive line is struggling. You have two good guards, but the rest of the unit is underwhelming.

There's going to be a lot of clear passing situations for Dallas, and T.J. Watt is inevitable. He’s going to make a big play in this game.

Overall, it’s a great spot for Pittsburgh and an easy fade of the Cowboys.

Pick: Steelers -2.5
