UTEP Miners Football 2024
UTEP hired 34-year-old Scotty Walden as its new head coach after a 2023 season that saw the Miners finish 3-9 and second-to-last in Conference USA. UTEP will try to build around Walden and a trio of new offensive weapons in QB Skyler Locklear, RB Jevon Jackson and WR Kam Thomas — all of whom played at Austin Peay under Walden.
Here's how you can bet on UTEP this season, and some key things to know.

UTEP Point Spreads
Point spreads are a popular bet one can make on either team in a college football game and are based on the margin of victory for the winning team.
A UTEP spread might look like this:
- UTEP +3.5 (-110)
- Sam Houston -3.5 (-110)
A 31-28 loss for UTEP is still a win for spread bettors since the three-point margin of defeat is less than the 3.5-point spread. Spread tickets on the Miners would cash with any loss of three or fewer points, or an outright win.

UTEP Over/Unders
Over/unders, or totals, are bets on the number of points scored in the game. UTEP was 5-7 to the Over in the regular season in 2023.

UTEP Moneylines
While spread bets depend on the amount of the victory, moneyline bets are a bit simpler, as all that matters is which team wins. Let's look at an example:
- UTEP -160
- Liberty +180
The minus (-) and plus (+) signs distinguish the favorite from the underdog, making UTEP the favorite in this scenario. Odds can be understood more clearly if you think in terms of $100 increments. A wager on the Miners odds would mean every $160 bet nets $100. And it's the opposite for underdogs: Here, the Liberty moneyline was set at +180, meaning a $100 wager would profit $180.
Moneylines are also commonly used when making parlays, which are multiple bets tied into one. Let’s say you bet on UTEP's moneyline and the Over, both bets would need to win for that parlay to be successful. The risk may be greater, but so is the reward with increased odds. UTEP Props
Player props are bets on how much of a specific statistic a player will accumulate.
For example, you could bet on how many touchdown passes Locklear will throw in a game or bet over or under on Jackson's rushing yards. Many skill position players (and some defenders) will have a variety of props available to bet each game.

UTEP Futures
Futures are somewhat similar to prop bets in the way both are monitored over the course of a season. However, most future bets are focused on end of season success. Examples of futures are:
- UTEP Miners odds to win Confernce USA
- UTEP Miners odds to reach the College Football Playoff
If you think the Miners can compete in Conference USA this season, this is the bet to make. These types of bets are called futures, and they're just wagers on things that settle at the end of the year. For a full list of college football futures, click or tap here.
