San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Preview
The Spurs are 3-0 in this matchup, and the Thunder have two more opportunities to prevent going winless against presumably their biggest threats in the Western Conference — and perhaps the NBA.
A lot has been made of Oklahoma City's "struggles" lately.
The Thunder are now down to 9-6 in their last 15 games, exactly one month of hoops, following a 24-1 start. However they are still an NBA-best 33-7 heading into tonight.
The Spurs are a distant second at 27-12 in the NBA's tougher conference — and yet, they've completely owned this matchup thus far despite being the underdog in all three games.
In fact, the Thunder are the only team in the NBA that has yet to be an underdog this season, and given that many will anticipate tonight as a bounce-back spot, this won't change.
Here's your injury report for tonight.
For the Spurs, Devin Vassell (adductor) is the only player expected to be inactive as of this morning.
For the Thunder, Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) is out again, as is the indefinite absence of Nikola Topic (testicular cancer). Rookie Thomas Sorber (ACL) is expected to be out for the year.
Spurs vs Thunder Betting Predictions, Analysis
We'll do a two-leg parlay here.
First leg: Alex Caruso to record at least one steal, which will be juiced.
Caruso generally plays more in close games and against better teams; against the Spurs, he's averaging 21 minutes per contest, playing no fewer than 19 minutes.
He's gone over this once against San Antonio, recording three steals in the Cup semis, but Caruso has at least one steal in 20-of-28 games this season overall.
Leg two is Stephon Castle over 15.5 points. He's scored totals of 22, 24, and 19 in this matchup, and won't have Devin Vassell again.
This almost feels like a buy-low given that Castle is only over this in two of eight, but he's shredded this OKC defense three times in three shots.
In this game without Vassell, they'll need his volume off Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox, who will undoubtedly command significant attention.
