Celtics vs. Heat
By Jim Turvey
The Heat appear to be back to not wanting to play Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware together.
This has been an on-again, off-again pattern throughout the season, but it makes sense given the data.
With both players on the court, the Heat have a -7.4 net rating. Just Bam is +5.3; just Ware is -2.9; and neither on is +4.7.
It's clear the pairing doesn't work well together, and now that the Heat are healthy, they don't need to force this duo into action together, which means Ware gets minutes somewhere in the teens.
Ware is a very strong per-minute player, but if the minutes are that low, it's going to be very difficult for him to reach this number.
Pick: Kel'el Ware Under 16.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-130)
Thunder vs. Rockets
This is a difficult spot for Steven Adams' scoring approach.
He's averaging 5.9 points per game this season, with more than half of it (3.0) coming on 2nd-chance points.
Adams is the driving force behind Houston's absurd offensive rebounding numbers.
The Thunder have allowed the fewest points in the paint and fewest 2nd-chance points per game.
Adams has come off of the bench in the past two games, and I'd expect that to continue with the Thunder missing Isaiah Hartenstein.
In 20 games off of the bench this season, Adams has averaged 5.5 points across 19.8 minutes per game.
Pick: Steven Adams Under 6.5 Points (-145)
Knicks vs. Warriors
By Nick Galaida
Last night, Jalen Brunson played only five minutes before suffering an ankle sprain in the first quarter.
The fact that he didn’t return to the game makes it seem unlikely that we see him on the floor for the Knicks tonight, especially with the team being on the road once again.
According to the RotoGrinders CourtIQ tool, Towns is averaging 27.3 points and 12.6 rebounds per 36 minutes this season with Brunson off the floor. He’s cleared this number in all three games in which Brunson has been inactive.
Even on the second night of a back-to-back against a capable Golden State defense, Towns should have a great chance to make an impact in the box score.
Pick: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 34.5 Points & Rebounds (-124)
Hornets vs. Lakers
By Kyle Murray
With Luka Doncic and LeBron James off of the injury report, as well as Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes returning to the fold, the under projects quite well for Deandre Ayton tonight.
I have him projected for just 21 points + rebounds in this matchup against the Hornets.
