For my Wednesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into predictions for Nick Castellanos, Gavin Williams and Nolan Gorman.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the games on Wednesday, August 6.
MLB Player Props for August 6, 2025
- Nick Castellanos Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-130, DraftKings)
- Gavin Williams Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-105, DraftKings)
- Nolan Gorman Over 0.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-135, BetMGM)
Orioles vs Phillies Player Props: Castellanos Trouble for Rogers
Trevor Rogers is enjoying a resurgent 2025, which has to make the Orioles' brass breathe easier after what Kyle Stowers has done in Miami.
Through nine starts, he has a 1.44 ERA and is coming off a tough-luck complete-game loss in Chicago.
However, one hitter who's always given him trouble, dating back to his time with the Marlins, is Castellanos.
Castellanos is 4-for-9 with a solo home run off Rogers. He's slashing .285/.336/.455 with 11 runs scored, four home runs and 20 RBI against left-handed pitching this season. Additionally, he enjoys hitting at Citizens Bank Park, where he has an .811 OPS and has hit 10 of his 15 home runs this season.
Castellanos enters today's game with a hit in each of his last six games and 11 of his previous 13 games. He's cleared this line in each of his last six games and will look to extend that streak to seven today.
He's batting fourth today in front of Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper. I expect at least one of them to be on base for Castellanos to drive in.
Guardians vs Mets Player Props: Williams Going Strong
Developing starting pitching has rarely been a problem in Cleveland. In recent years, Shane Bieber won a Cy Young Award and anchored the staff for several postseason runs, but he's been recovering from Tommy John and was recently dealt to Toronto.
Tanner Bibee got the ball on Opening Day this season. However, Williams has the stuff and pedigree as a former first-round pick to assume that mantle moving forward.
Williams has pitched to a 3.33 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 116 1/3 innings this season. Lately, he's worked deeper into games, going six innings in four of his last five starts.
The key for him has been limiting walks. When he goes six innings, he usually has three walks or fewer, and more often than not, two or fewer.
Today, he'll face a Mets lineup that ranks eighth in walks against right-handed pitchers. However, the big bats in their lineup haven't produced of late. The Mets rank 21st in wRC+ over the last 30 days and have lost seven of their last eight games.
Williams has allowed three earned runs or fewer in nine of his last 10 starts, including four with one or zero runs. He's pitched 5 2/3 innings in seven of those starts.
I like his chances to record 17 outs in this spot.
Cardinals vs Dodgers Player Props: Value On Gorman's Dodgers Streak
Gorman was back in the lineup on Tuesday and recorded two hits and launched his 10th home run of the year.
Since he returned from the IL, he has a hit in four straight games and six straight overall.
Today, the Dodgers will start Shohei Ohtani as he continues his pitching rehab in the MLB. Ohtani has worked three innings in his last three starts and may get a fourth inning today.
That means Gorman, if he's batting in the bottom third of the Cardinals' order again, likely only faces him once. Following Ohtani may be Justin Wrobleski, who last pitched on Friday and has followed when Ohtani has been used as an opener.
Gorman hasn't faced Wrobleski yet, but he's 2-for-3 with a solo home run against Ohtani. The simplest way for him to clear this line is with a hit, and he's -110 for one today.
However, he's recorded at least one hit, run or RBI in seven straight games, one game longer than his hitting streak.
In that span, he's averaging three HRRBI per game. He's playable to record just one today, but he's also +310 for three HRRBI on Fanatics.
