For my Tuesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into three hitters tonight in Riley Greene, Yandy Diaz, and Eugenio Suarez.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Tuesday, September 16.
MLB Player Props for September 16, 2025
- Riley Greene Over 1.5 Strikeouts (+176, DraftKings)
- Yandy Diaz Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110, Fanatics)
- Eugenio Suarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130, Fanatics)
Guardians vs Tigers Player Props: Value On Struggling Greene
The Tigers have dwindled their magic number in the AL Central and host the Guardians tonight, who will be making a last stand to stay alive in the division. The Tigers have won four of the first seven meetings this season, but they have not gotten a lot of production out of All-Star slugger Riley Greene. Against Cleveland, Greene is 1-for-23 with 12 strikeouts this season. This comes after 14-for-67 with 17 strikeouts (including postseason) against them last season.
Tonight, Greene will face Joey Cantillo, whom he is 0-for-1 against. Cantillo is coming off eight scoreless innings against Kansas City in his last start. He has fanned five or more in eight of his last 10 appearances. He will also have a left-on-left matchup against Greene, who is hitting just .231 with a .645 OPS against left-handers this season.
Greene has struck out at least once in nine of his last 10 games, including three games with two strikeouts. If Cantillo gets him at least once in his first two to three plate appearances, the Guardians can strike out for the second one and cash us at this very nice price.
Blue Jays vs Rays Player Props: Thriving Diaz to Continue Hitting Run
Runs were at a premium at Steinbrenner Field last night as the Blue Jays defeated the Rays 2-1. However, that did not stop Yandy Diaz as he went 3-for-3 with an RBI double to drive in Tampa Bay's lone run of the game. Diaz is slashing .295/.356/.479 with career-highs with 24 home runs and 80 RBI.
Diaz has a good matchup tonight against Jose Berrios. He is 6-for-20 (.300) with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, and a .883 OPS against the Blue Jays right-hander. Berrios has given up 37 extra-base hits and a .794 OPS to right-handed batters. He has alternated giving up six and two runs over his last four starts, which means the Rays' offense could be in for a big night should that trend continue.
Diaz has a hit in seven of his last eight home games, and he has an .874 OPS at home this season. He is hitting .400 in September and has two hits in three of his last five games. That has also helped him record two total bases in four games in that span, and I expect that trend to continue tonight against Berrios and Co.
Mariners vs Royals Player Props: Suarez To Have Break Out Night
At the trade deadline, Eugenio Suarez was the most coveted bat on the market. He was sent back to Seattle, which I found interesting considering he struggled in his final season with the Mariners in 2023. He is hitting .186 over the last month and enters tonight's game in a 0-for-27 slump during Seattle's recent homestand.
However, fortunately for him, Seattle will be on the road tonight.
Suarez has a hit in six of his last nine road games, including three multi-hit games. He will also likely be happy to face Michael Wacha tonight, considering their history. Suarez is 17-for-38 (.455) with three doubles, two home runs, and a 1.184 OPS against him.
Wacha missed a start because of a stint on the 7-day injured list with a concussion. He has been solid this season with a 3.45 ERA, but he has reverse splits and is tougher on left-handed hitters than right-handers. If Suarez is going to break out of his slump in the near future, it will likely be tonight.
