Sunday Night Baseball this week features division rivals with the New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles. The roles have been reversed this year as the Orioles lead in the American League East division standings while the Yankees are fighting for the wild card.
These two teams have been evenly matched in head-to-head play so far with six wins each in their first 12 meetings.
Who will get the job done and take home the victory under the bright lights in Baltimore Sunday?
The Parlay (+544):
- Dean Kremer Over 4.5 Strikeouts
- Gunnar Henderson 2+ Total Bases
- Orioles -1.5
Same Game Parlay – Yankees vs Orioles
Dean Kremer Over 4.5 Strikeouts
Dean Kremer isn't necessarily a big strikeout pitcher. He has just a 21% strikeout percentage overall this season. The Yankees lineup will strike out, though.
Everyone in New York's projected lineup except Gleyber Torres and Harrison Bader. has at least a 23% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this season. In his last start against the Yankees, Kremer struck out 10 batters.
We need him to get only five strikeouts to cover this leg of the Same Game Parlay.
Gunnar Henderson 2+ Total Bases
Luis Severino is starting for the Yankees tonight, and he's been quite bad this season. Severino has especially struggled against left-handed batters. He's allowed a .268 ISO and .426 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season.
Henderson is perhaps in the best spot to take advantage of Severino tonight. Henderson is projected to hit leadoff and has a .275 ISO and .368 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.
We need only a double or two singles from Henderson to cover this leg of the SGP.
Orioles -1.5
This is an important game for the Yankees as they make a push toward the wild card in the lead-up to the trade deadline.
Still, this is not a good matchup for them with the Orioles' left-handed power against Severino. Kremer pitched very well against the Yankees in his last start, and the Orioles' bullpen is extremely tough to come back on late in games.
The Yankees went off for eight runs Saturday night, but I expect the Orioles to bounce back on Sunday.
