Story: Back Otto to Stay Hot at The Plate
The Marlins will host the Phillies on Tuesday evening in the second of a three-game set at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
Former Cy Young Award-winner Sandy Alcantara will take the mound for the Marlins, while the Phils will send out 33-year-old veteran right-hander Aaron Nola.
Below, I will break down Tuesday’s divisional clash and provide a “same-game-parlay” (SGP) betting angle that you can take when wagering on this matchup.
Miami Marlins: Otto Lopez HRR Prop
For the first leg in our SGP for Tuesday night, I have confidence backing Marlins’ 2B Otto Lopez to have a big night at the plate building upon what has been a phenomenal 2026 campaign for the 27-year-old.
Despite having established himself as a top-tier starter at the onset of his professional career, Nola is now in his 12th season in Philadelphia with his elite stuff on the mound having fallen off substantially over the last several seasons.
In 21 starts on the bump in 2026, the Phils’ veteran has recorded an atrocious 5.82 ERA on the season with his having surrendered a whopping 70 earned runs (ER) across over 108 frames on the mound.
While Nola’s prime years seem to be well behind him, Otto is having himself a breakout 2026 campaign with the Dominican leading all of baseball with a .330 AVG on the season thus far.
In nine previous at-bats versus the Phillies’ right-hander, Lopez has recorded four hits with two of them having been for extra bases.
Nola has struggled mightily with suppressing contact this season, particularly when matched up with high-contact hitters and righties who can lay off secondary offerings that break out of the zone.
Otto’s exceptional plate discipline and elite contact rates make him a nightmare matchup for Nola, which has been clearly displayed in the two’s previous encounter versus one another.
That said, I favor backing the Marlins’ slugger to exceed his 1.5 HRR (Hits + Runs + RBIs) mark on Tuesday night in a game Miami’s lineup could frequent the basepaths given Nola’s spiraling form on the mound.

Philadelphia Phillies F5 Pick
For the second leg in our SGP for Tuesday night, I will be looking to back the Phillies to go under their first-five (F5) team total in a game I expect Sandy Alcantara to shine despite a very volatile first half to his 2026 season thus far.
Prior to Sandy having allowed five earned runs (ER) in his first start back after the All-Star break, the Marlins’ 30-year-old was on an absolute tear with his having recorded eight quality starts (QS) over his last nine outings.
Following Alcantara’s breakthrough 2022 season that led to his winning the National League Cy Young Award, Miami’s righty was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery, which kept him out of action for nearly 18 months.
In his return to the mound, Sandy struggled to regain his elite form, having finished last season with an ERA upwards of 5.00. That said, the Marlins’ veteran has shown flashes of his former self throughout the 2026 season with several phenomenal outings over the first few months.
While Alcantara is coming off of a troublesome start on the bump, I expect this to be a prime bounce-back spot for the Marlins’ righty, especially considering his having recorded a quality start in his last start versus this Phillies’ lineup just a few weeks ago.
Though there remains plenty to fear in a Philly batting order that boasts exceptional talent from top-to-bottom, Sandy has quite the previous history versus the majority of their hitters given his having played in the National League East for the entirety of his Major League career.
There is no doubt that Sandy’s previous start could be some cause for concern, but I still have faith in the Marlins’ ace’s exceptional arsenal on the mound as he has shown in countless outings over the course of the 2026 season thus far.
That said, the Phillies to go under their first-five team total (F5 TT) should provide some solid value at the back-end of our SGP ahead of Tuesday night’s divisional showdown in Miami.
