The Minnesota Twins spoiled the New York Yankees' first game of their home stand Thursday night before many fans even found their seats.
The Twins put up a nine spot on Yankees rookie Jhony Brito in the very first inning, rendering the rest of the game a mere formality as Minnesota cruised to an 11-2 road victory.
It was a beatdown as the Yankees were also shutdown by the Twins' Joe Ryan, who dominated for seven innings with a 10-strikeout performance.
Momentum is as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher, though.
Will the Twins be able to get another good pitching performance on their way to another win in the Bronx?

Same-Game Parlay – New York Yankees vs Minnesota Twins
Aaron Judge 2+ Total Bases
Unfortunately for the Twins, Ryan can't pitch everyday. In fact, the drop-off in the quality of the starting pitcher appears to be steep here.
Louie Varland, a 25-year-old former 15th round pick with only 26 major-league innings under his belt, is set to start for Minnesota here. Varland has a 3.81 ERA in those 26 innings, but his xERA is considerably worse at 4.56.
The good news for the Yankees' mostly right-handed lineup is that Varland has allowed a .228 ISO to right-handed hitters in those innings.
Aaron Judge has a .342 ISO against right-handed pitching this year in a small sample size of at-bats, and had a .384 ISO against right-handed pitching in a much bigger sample size of at-bats last year.
All rise because here comes the Judge.
Giancarlo Stanton 2+ Total Bases
Judge isn't the only right-handed slugger to worry about on the Yankees, of course.
Giancarlo Stanton has a .313 ISO against right-handed pitching in a small sample size of at-bats this year, and had a .271 ISO against right-handed pitching in a much larger sample size of at-bats last year.
Stanton hits the ball harder than just about any other hitter in the league that you can name and is off to a pretty decent start this year, with a .500 slugging percentage and five extra base hits.
In a good matchup against the inexperienced Varland, Stanton should be able to capitalize on the good hitting conditions at Yankee Stadium, as it's been unusually warm for this time of the year on the east coast this week.
Yankees -1.5
Including the playoffs, the Yankees are 29-2 in games where Judge and Stanton both hit at least one home run. We just need them to hit a double or two singles each for the sake of this parlay, but both of them are in a good spot to leave the yard, and they do it just about as frequently as any other hitters in baseball.
The Yankees will also have Nestor Cortes Jr. on the mound Friday. Cortes broke out big time with an all-star season last year, posting a 2.44 ERA.
After two starts this year, he has a 2.61 ERA, essentially picking up where he left off.
The Yankees seem to have the advantage on both sides of the ball in this one and to top it off, they were blown out last night. That means they didn't have to use closer Clay Holmes, so he's well rested if a save opportunity were to arise Friday.
Back the Yankees on the run line to finish off this same game parlay.
