After a split last night, I’m back with two plays to get us a winning night with our MLB Player Props today.

The Yankees and Orioles will be looking to keep pace in the AL East as the Bronx Bombers hold a 2.5-game lead over the Orioles entering Wednesday. Juan Soto and Adley Rutschman will look to lead the way in their respective games when the Yankees host the Twins and the Orioles visit the Blue Jays.

Let's dive into our MLB player props for Wednesday, June 5.

Last night, Juan Soto reached base twice via two walks but did not record any total bases as he went hitless. This snapped a seven-game hitting streak for Soto, but it may not take him long to get back in the hit column.

Chris Paddack will get the start for the Twins tonight and has had an up-and-down season. He has a 4.57 ERA, 4.32 xERA and 42.2% Hard-hit Rate. Five of the 11 home runs he has given up have been to left-handed hitters, who are hitting .289 against him. The Yankees also roughed him up in Minnesota on May 14th when he allowed 12 hits and five runs in five innings.

Soto went 1-for-2 with a walk against Paddack in that matchup, which is modest for him. For his career, Soto is 3-for-6 with two home runs and six runs batted in against Paddack. He also is hitting .316 with 14 home runs and a 1.039 OPS against right-handed pitchers this season.

Soto now has a hit in eight of his past 10 games and has recorded two total bases in six of them. I expect that trend to move to seven of 11 tonight. Additionally, the Yankees' promotion tonight is Juan Soto Basketball Jersey Night. Players tend to perform well on their promotional nights, be it bobbleheads or otherwise. Soto is +265 to hit a home run on FanDuel as well.

I was going to back Adley Rutschman for yesterday's column, but the Blue Jays made a pitching change. He ended up going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in, clearing most of his prop overs in the process. Now we are getting even better odds for a matchup that he has dominated.

Against Jose Berrios, Rutschman is hitting 12-for-19 (.636) with two doubles, three home runs, four runs batted in and a 1.877 OPS. Berrios is having a strong season with a 2.78 ERA, but that has not mattered to Rutschman.

Just last month, Berrios pitched seven strong innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs — which came on two Rutschman solo home runs. Additionally, six of the 10 home runs Berrios has given up have been to left-handed hitters, the side the switch-hitting catcher will bat from tonight.

Rutschman is +500 on DraftKings for another home run off Berrios tonight. However, Rutschman has seemed to record two total bases in a variety of ways against Berrios. Rutschman has had two bases in five of Berrios' last seven starts against Baltimore. He also has recorded two bases in 10 of his last 17 games against Toronto. An extra-base hit or multi-hit game will get there once again tonight.
