The star-studded Dodgers, who have lost seven of their last 10 games, begin a nine-game road trip. They will begin in the nation's capital against a Nationals team that took two of three at Dodger Stadium last week. However, the game that the Dodgers did win was started by Patrick Corbin, and Mookie Betts will look to get to him again.

Meanwhile, seven was a lucky number for the Phillies and Tigers last night as they cruised to 7-0 and 7-1 victories in their respective series openers. Trea Turner and Kerry Carpenter are a pair of hitters who will look to stay hot and lead their teams to victories.

In Anaheim, the Orioles took the first game of their three-game series against the Angels. It was their seventh win in eight games and they have taken their first four games against the Angels this season.

Let's get into my Tuesday MLB player props for April 23.

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-140)

In a league with Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman on his own team, it is Mookie Betts who has emerged as the early favorite for NL MVP. It is not hard to see why as Betts is hitting .355 with six home runs, 19 runs batted in, and a 1.103 OPS. He ranks in the top 10 in the MLB in all categories.

As good a start as Betts has gotten off to, he only has two hits in his last four games. However, in the game before that stretch, he had five hits against the Washington Nationals. That game was started by Patrick Corbin, who Betts went 4-for-4 with two doubles against last Tuesday. He is now 7-for-14 with three doubles, a home run, and a 1.429 OPS against Corbin in his career.

Betts has always been equally as dangerous against right and left-handed pitchers and this season has been no different thus far. Betts is hitting .353 with a .995 OPS against left-handed pitching this season. He has hit five of his six home runs against right-handers thus far, but four of his six doubles have come against left-handers.

A double tonight would give Betts two bases as would another multi-hit game. Betts has hit this line in seven of his last 13 games against Washington, averaging 2.9 total bases in that span. He had seven total bases against Washington last Tuesday, but he can cash this line without another five-hit performance tonight.

Pick: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (-140)

Trea Turner/Kerry Carpenter One Hit Parlay (+111)

Last night, Trea Turner was hitless in his first four at-bats before he singled to left in the ninth inning. In the process, Turner extended his hitting streak to 11 games and he has a hit in 13 of his last 14 games. In April, he is hitting .361 with eight doubles, two home runs, and eight runs batted in.

Last night, Turner had a tough assignment against Hunter Greene, who struck out six in seven innings. While he did not get Turner, he did almost end his hitting streak. Tonight, he will get to face another talented young Reds starter as Andrew Abbott is getting the ball tonight. Turner is 0-for-2 thus far against Abbott, but he is hitting .368 against left-handed pitchers this season. In Abbott's first start against the Phillies this season, Turner had two hits after he departed just in case he does not get one off Abbott tonight.

Meanwhile in Tampa, Kerry Carpenter also went 1-for-5 with an RBI double. Carpenter extended his hitting streak to eight games and in 11 of his past 12 starts. Carpenter also has an RBI in each of his past seven games and he is +215 for another tonight.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch has Carpenter on a strict platoon, which I personally find a bit questionable, given his importance to the Tigers offense. However, fortunately he is facing a right-hander tonight. Carpenter is hitting .321 with five doubles, two triples, three home runs and 12 of his 13 runs batted in against right-handed pitchers. Rays starter Ryan Pepiot is holding left-handed batters to a .243 batting average. However, considering that is 100 points higher than the .143 he is limiting right-handers to, Carpenter will be one of the Tigers hitters in a good spot tonight against Pepiot.

Turner and Carpenter are two of the hottest hitters in the league and we get plus odds by combining both for a hit. I like both of them to extend their hitting streak tonight.

Pick: Trea Turner/Kerry Carpenter One Hit Parlay (+111)

Gunnar Henderson Over 1.5 Total Bases (-125)

Last night, Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. In the process, Henderson collected two total bases in two different ways in the same game. Henderson now has a hit in seven of his last eight games. In all seven games of those games, he has had at least two total bases while averaging 3.25 total bases over this stretch.

Henderson had four total bases last night and he also had at least four when he homered in three straight games last week. Henderson is +300 on FanDuel tonight if you want to run him for Dinger Tuesday. With Griffin Canning starting tonight, he will have another opportunity to launch another tonight.

Canning comes into tonight's outing with a 8.05 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and allowing a 90 MPH Average Exit Velocity. Much of that damage has come against left-handed hitters as they are hitting .370 with three doubles, four home runs, and a 1.096 OPS. Henderson, a left-handed hitter himself, is 4-for-6 with a triple and a leadoff home run on March 30th.

Whether he homers tonight or not, Henderson has two hits (+170) in six of his past eight games. He can collect two total bases again tonight with an extra base hit or another multi-hit game.

Pick: Gunnar Henderson Over 1.5 Total Bases (-125)
