The Oakland Athletics are still in last place, but they're coming off a road series win in Detroit after taking two of three games against the Tigers.

Oakland lost the last game of the series in Detroit, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon.

The Boston Red Sox are also in last place in their division, but at 45-43 entering play on Friday, they have one of the better records in the American League.

The Red Sox are big favorites in this one and they should be, but we can still find enough value here for a Same Game Parlay.

The Parlay (+435):

  • Justin Turner 2+ Total Bases
  • Jarren Duran 2+ Hits
  • Red Sox -1.5

Same-Game Parlay – Boston Red Sox vs Oakland Athletics

Justin Turner 2+ Total Bases

This is a great matchup for Justin Turner. Luis Medina is on the mound for the Athletics.

While most of the Red Sox lineup is made up of left-handed hitters, Medina is worse against right-handed hitters. Medina has allowed a .292 ISO and .405 wOBA against right-handed hitters this season.

He's also been much worse on the road this season, with a 7.43 ERA.

Turner just needs a double or two singles to cover this leg of the SGP.

Jarren Duran 2+ Hits

Duran has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently. He hit .286 in June, and so far in July he's 8-for-13. Duran will be hitting leadoff tonight, which gives him plenty of opportunities to tally multiple hits.

Medina isn't a good pitcher right now, and once he's out of the game, the Athletics have the worst bullpen in all of baseball with a 7.69 ERA.

Duran has been a hit machine lately at the top of Boston's lineup, and I see no reason for him to slow down here in this matchup.

Red Sox -1.5

I like the Red Sox to win convincingly in this one. Boston is in a tough division, so it's in last place, but it's also one of the better teams in the American League.

Oakland is still the worst team in the American League by record. It's on the road here with a bad starting pitcher on the mound and the worst bullpen in all of baseball behind him.

Boston's offense should be able to put up a lot of runs in this one, which will lead to a lopsided score and to it covering the run line in the last leg of the SGP.
