With only eight games in action, we have a thin MLB slate on Monday. That doesn't mean there isn't value on the betting board, though.

Here's MLB odds and picks, including the "Payoff Pitch" podcast's predictions for Monday, June 3.

Rangers ML (-102) vs. Tigers

Nathan Eovaldi was a pitcher who helped guide the Rangers to the World Series last year and has picked up where he left off.

While Tarik Skubal has been great this year, his ERA is about a run better than expected. The Tigers do technically have the better splits in this matchup because Texas — which was a top-five team offensively against both right- and left-handed pitching — is 25th right now.

I expect improvement from the Rangers and looking at the board, I wouldn't say this is a "best bet," but it's what I like the most.

The Rangers are a game under .500 heading into June, but I think they're trending up while the Tigers are trending down.

Detroit just sent Spencer Torkelson down, and its offense has been absolutely anemic.

The Rangers are a team I would look towards in futures because their odds have floated up but they'll be getting Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom back at some point in the coming months.

I still think Texas is a World Series contender, and it's the one team I'm targeting right now for futures markets.

Padres ML (-126) at Angels

9:38 p.m. ET ⋅ MLB.TV

By Charlie DiSturco

Today is my Tyler Anderson fade day.

He has a 6+ xERA and a 5+ xFIP with an actual ERA of 2.47. Sean and I have been expecting negative regression for some time now for a guy who had a 5.43 ERA a season ago. He gives up a lot of fly balls and faces a team that doesn't strikeout much against lefties.

The Padres have looked great offensively in these last two weeks and are starting to come alive.

Meanwhile, the Angels have struggled of late against righties. They face a guy who's tough to predict because he's a knuckleballer.

The line has already moved, and I expected a lot of Padres bets to flood in once Matt Waldron was announced to start.

There's opportunity to attack the prop market as well with a guy like Fernando Tatis Jr. because it's only a matter of time before Anderson gets shelled.
