We went 1-1 yesterday, paying the juice on a NRFI that lost on the very first pitch of the game. Let's see if we can book a win tonight.

I have two more MLB NRFI and YRFI picks and predictions for Tuesday, August 20.

Starting Pitchers: Dean Kremer vs. Jose Quintana

It was the Mets who cashed this bet for us yesterday, but today Baltimore has the better odds.

That's thanks to another matchup with a southpaw pitcher, and the Orioles number-two ranked wRC+ against lefties. It's not exactly a tough matchup with, as Quintana has a 4.64 xFIP as a starter and 4.55 mark his first time through the order.

Of course, the projection isn't all Baltimore. Dean Kremer has ERA and underlying numbers all in the mid fours or worse, including a 4.49 xFIP his first time through the order.

Getting this one at plus-money feels like a steal, as most books have raised the total from the opening 7.5 all the way up to 8.5. Act fast, because the total (and thus the YRFI) could close even higher by game time.

Billy Ward's Angels vs. Royals NRFI/YRFI Bet

Starting Pitchers: Tyler Anderson vs. Cole Ragans

This isn't a bad price at FanDuel for what is effectively a single-team NRFI.

The Angels have very little chance of costing us this bet, between their relatively poor offense and the excellent numbers posted by Cole Ragans. The Royals lefty has a 3.18 ERA overall that drops to 2.48 his first time through the order.

I'm less confident in the Royals side of things. They're the better overall offense, and while Tyler Anderson has similarly strong ERA numbers his ERA predictors are a bit scary.

However, the top of the Royals lineup is a good bit worse against left-handed pitching than right, and the solid pitching weather should basically cancel out the extra scoring provided by this game being at Kauffman stadium.

That's enough to cover the low juice price.
