Shayne Trail breaks down his favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.
Matchup | Josiah Gray vs. Jesus Luzardo |
First Pitch | 6:40 p.m. ET |
Today, we set our sights on loanDepot Park, home to an enticing NRFI bet between two NL East teams, the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals.
Taking the mound for the Marlins is left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Since 2021, Luzardo has been nothing short of spectacular, recording an impressive 22-3 NRFI record, including a formidable 11-1 home NRFI split.
Luzardo has exhibited exceptional skill when facing batters the first time through the order, allowing a mere 12 hits in 69 at-bats, which translates to a .174 average.
His success extends to the Nationals' lineup as well, with Dominic Smith at 0-for-4, Joey Meneses at 1-for-3, Luis Garcia at 2-for-8, Alex Avila at 0-for-3 and Riley Adams at 0-for-2 against him.
Opposing Luzardo in this NRFI bet is Nationals standout Josiah Gray.
Gray has been a revelation in 2023, emerging as one of the top pitchers in MLB. He holds an impeccable 5-0 road NRFI split and an overall impressive 7-1 NRFI record.
Like Luzardo, Gray has shown proficiency when facing batters the first time through the order, allowing just 13 hits in 67 at-bats for a .194 average.
He's also held his ground against key Marlins hitters in the past, including Jon Berti (2-for-10), Jorge Soler (4-for-11), Yuli Gurriel (1-for-3), Jazz Chisholm (4-for-13) and Jean Segura (0-for-7).
Given that both the Marlins and Nationals are among the weaker hitting teams in the league, this NRFI bet holds strong potential.
FanDuel is currently offering this wager at an excellent value of -115.
As always, six outs to glory.
