Today, we venture to loanDepot Park for a showdown between the Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs.
The Marlins will be showcasing their left-handed ace, Jesus Luzardo. This year, Luzardo has had an outstanding start in the NRFI, boasting a 5-0 record. This impressive performance brings his overall tally to 20-2 since last season. When facing batters for the first time through the order, he has allowed only seven hits in 44 at-bats, resulting in a .159 average against. In previous encounters, Luzardo has managed to stifle key Cubs hitters like Nico Hoerner (0-3), Seiya Suzuki (0-3), Ian Happ (1-7), and Patrick Wisdom (1-8).
On the other side of this NRFI, we have the Cubs' Marcus Stroman. This particular statistic is crucial as securing the first out in NRFIs is often the most challenging task.
