Jesus Luzardo & Corbin Burnes

Yankees vs. Marlins, 6:40 p.m. ET | Brewers vs. White Sox, 8:10 p.m. ET

Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings, BetMGM and Barstool. This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first custom NRFI selection for today will showcase Marlins ace Jesus Luzardo. This season, Luzardo has achieved an outstanding 20–3 NRFI record, paired with a 12–1 home NRFI split. This strengthens Luzardo's overall NRFI record to an impressive 35–5 since 2022.

When facing batters for the first time through the order, Luzardo has demonstrated exceptional proficiency, allowing only a .190 average in 195 at-bats. A noteworthy advantage for him today is his lack of facing a significant portion of the New York Yankees' lineup, providing him the edge of unfamiliarity. Adding to the surprise, despite the star-studded lineup of the New York Yankees, they hold a 70% NRFI rate this year.

Our second custom NRFI selection of the day features Brewers ace Corbin Burnes. This season, Burnes boasts a 17–6 NRFI record, with a remarkable 10–2 road NRFI split, contributing to his solid 21–6 NRFI record when pitching on the road since 2022.

Similar to Luzardo, Burnes displays remarkable proficiency when facing batters for the first time through the order this season, limiting them to a .180 average in 183 at-bats. In his previous encounters, Burnes has effectively held his own against the Chicago White Sox hitters. Specifically, Tim Anderson is 0-3, Andrew Benintendi is 0-3, Eloy Jimenez is 0-1, Gavin Sheets is 0-3 and Yoan Moncada is 1-5. Notably, the White Sox have maintained a 76% NRFI rate this season.

This custom NRFI selection is -156 at DraftKings.

As always, six outs to glory…
