Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers in two different games. This kind of bet can be found at sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool Sportsbook.

This specific type of NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half-innings from two different games. This approach allows you to tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first custom NRFI selection features Miami Marlins ace, Jesus Luzardo. This season, Luzardo has been outstanding with a 20-2 NRFI record, including an impressive 8-1 Road NRFI split, bringing his overall NRFI record to an impressive 35-4 since 2022.

When facing batters the first time through the order, Luzardo has been extremely proficient, surrendering only 34 hits in 187 at-bats for a .182 average. In the past, Luzardo has held his own against the Texas Rangers' bats, with Adolis Garcia, Corey Seager and Mitch Garver all going 0-2 against him. Despite the Rangers having one of the better hitting lineups in baseball, they own a rather high NRFI rate of 73% this season.

Our second selection for today's custom NRFI is Philadelphia Phillies veteran, Aaron Nola. This season, Nola holds a solid 15-7 NRFI record, with an impressive 7-1 home NRFI split, bringing his home NRFI record to an impressive 21-3 since 2022.

When facing batters the first time through the order, Nola has also been proficient, allowing only a .204 average in 191 at-bats. To his advantage today, Aaron Nola has not faced the majority of the Kansas City Royals' bats, which will give him the edge of unfamiliarity. The only Royals hitter he has faced is Salvador Pérez, who is 0-2 against him.

The Royals' bats are also cold over the last month as they have only achieved 17 first-inning hits in 94 plate appearances, resulting in a .198 average.

This custom NRFI selection is (-134) on Barstool Sportsbook.
