On Tuesday, we travel to American Family Field to find value in a NRFI between two National League teams: the Milwaukee Brewers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks will send out their ace Zac Gallen, who is 25-4 to the NRFI with an impressive 12-2 road NRFI split entering the matchup. When facing batters the first time through the order, Gallen has dominated allowing a .161 average against 248 hitters.
Here is how Gallen has performed in the past against some of these Brewers hitters:
- Willy Adames: 0-for-5
- Hunter Renfroe: 1-for-6
- Kolten Wong: 1-for-5
- Luis Urias: 0-for-5
The Brewers are not a very good first-inning team. They are currently coming into today riding a hot 10-0 NRFI streak in the last 10 games. They are also playing very deflated as they lost the final wild card spot last night to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Brewers will counter with Eric Lauer coming into today Lauer has been terrific to the NRFI. This year he is 22-6 to the NRFI with an impressive 10-2 home NRFI split.
Lauer performs exceptionally well against teams' lead-off hitters. Of the 71 leadoff hitters of his faced, he’s allowed a .183 average. Here is how some of these Diamondbacks hitters have done in the past against Lauer:
- Josh Rojas: 0-for-8
- Christian Walker: 2-for-13
- Carson Kelly: 2-for-8
Arizona is amongst the worst teams when scoring runs the first sitting on the road they NRFI at an alarming 79% of the time when playing on the road.
Bet on these two outstanding elite NRFI pitchers to throw a scoreless first inning today in Milwaukee.
As always, six outs to glory.
