Shayne Trail breaks down his favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.
Carlos Rodón &
Tyler Glasnow
Matchup | Yankees vs. Rockies · Rays vs. Royals |
First Pitch | 7:10 p.m. ET · 7:40 p.m. ET |
Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool.
This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half-innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.
Our first selection for today's custom NRFI features Carlos Rodón, the talented left-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees. Rodón, who recently returned from the injured list, achieved a NRFI in his first start of the season last Friday. He has a dominant history to the NRFI, where he boasts an impressive 50-16 record since the 2019 season.
Today, Rodón faces the Colorado Rockies at the notorious Coors Field, which naturally will provide us some value. In past matchups, Rodón has held his own against Rockies hitters such as Randal Girchcuk (2-15), Kris Bryant (0-6), Harold Castro (1-5) and Elias Diaz (0-4).
Despite the Rockies playing in a hitter-friendly ballpark, they have maintained a NRFI percentage of 77% at home this season. Leading into the All-Star break, Ezekiel Tovar began to struggle, recording only one hit in his last 11 at-bats for a .091 average.
Our second selection for today's custom NRFI is Tyler Glasnow, the ace of the Tampa Bay Rays. Glasnow, who also recently returned from the injured list, owns a strong 7-1 NRFI record, which now extends to 9-1 since 2022. This season he has been extremely proficient against opponents' leadoff hitters, allowing only four hits in 24 at-bats, resulting in a .167 average.
Today, Glasnow faces the Kansas City Royals, one of the weaker hitting teams in baseball. In previous matchups, Glasnow has held his own against Salvador Pérez (0-7), who bats in the key third spot of the Royals lineup. The Royals possess a NRFI rate of 69% this season, which is one of the higher rates in baseball.
This custom NRFI is priced at -154 at DraftKings.
As always, six outs to glory …
