Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers in two separate games. This bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool. This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.
Our first NRFI selection is Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen. In 2023, Gallen boasts a stellar 6-1 NRFI record, including an impressive 3-0 split at home. When facing leadoff hitters, Gallen has been nothing short of dominant, holding them to a paltry .150 average with just three hits in 20 at-bats and nine strikeouts. The Marlins, his opponents today, are one of the weaker first-inning hitting teams in baseball. Furthermore, Gallen has had success against key Marlins batters in the past: Jorge Soler (1-6), Yuli Gurriel (1-6), Luis Arraez (0-6), Jazz Chisholm (0-6), and Jon Berti (0-2).
Our second NRFI choice for the day is Chicago White Sox ace Dylan Cease. Like Gallen, Cease has started the season strong with a 6-1 NRFI record. The Kansas City Royals, his opponents today, are also known to be among the weaker first-inning hitting teams in the league. Cease's past performances against key Royals hitters further support his selection: Edward Olivares (2-8), Bobby Witt Jr. (1-5), MJ Melendez (1-6), Salvador Pérez (5-25), and Nick Pratto (0-2).
This custom NRFI parlay, featuring Gallen and Cease, is priced at an attractive -145 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
As always, six outs to glory…
