Matchup | Shane Bieber vs. Zack Greinke |
First Pitch | 2:10 p.m. ET |
Today, our attention turns to Kauffman Stadium as we seek value in an NRFI matchup between two American League teams, the Cleveland Guardians and the Kansas City Royals.
Taking the mound first today will be the veteran Zack Greinke of the Kansas City Royals. This season, Greinke has been highly proficient, holding an impressive 14-2 record in NRFIs. His home NRFI split is flawless, with a perfect 8-0 record.
Since last season, he has also found success against the Cleveland Guardians hitters, including Steven Kwan (1-10), Jose Ramirez (3-16), Josh Bell (3-11), Josh Naylor (1-5) and Andres Gimenez (1-8). To his advantage today, the Cleveland Guardians have achieved the NRFI in eight consecutive games.
On the other side of the NRFI battle is Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber. This season, Bieber owns a strong 13-3 NRFI record, including an impressive 8-1 road NRFI split. Since last season, he has amassed an impressive 29-8 NRFI record.
Similarly to Greinke, Bieber has found success against some of the Royals hitters in the past, such as Salvador Pérez (5-20), Bobby Witt Jr. (0-7), Nicky Lopez (5-21), Kyle Isbel (0-2) and Nick Pratto (0-3). Additionally, Bieber has an attractive NRFI trend today, boasting a 20-2 record in his last 22 starts when facing teams with a .500 record or worse.
Both of these teams have struggled in the first inning recently, ranking as the bottom-three first inning hitting teams over the past seven days. They have both recorded a batting average of under .125 in the first inning.
Considering all these factors, this NRFI over at FanDuel Sportsbook at (-110) is tremendous value.
As always, six outs to glory…
