MLB Home Run Picks for August 20

Giancarlo Stanton (+350)
at Rays (SP: RHP Drew Rasmussen)

This is strictly a price play. Opposing pitcher Drew Rasmussen is a tough matchup for righty power, giving up a low 0.78 HR/9 on the season. However, Giancarlo Stanton is far too good to be priced at this number. Stanton has been tearing the cover off the ball this season, with 14 homers over his past 33 games. This ballpark profiles the same as New York's home ballpark, but the weather should be a big upgrade, with temperatures in the mid-80s, high humidity and winds blowing out at 5 mph. I have the true odds here under +300, making this a great bet.

Yandy Diaz (+575)
vs Yankees (SP: RHP Cam Schlittler)

We don't have a huge sample size of opposing pitcher Cam Schlittler in the Majors, but he's allowed a high 1.82 HR/9 thus far and grades out as a plus matchup for power. The weather should be good for hitting in Tampa Bay, with temperatures in the mid-80s, high humidity, and wind blowing out at 5 mph.
Yandy Diaz isn't a huge power bat, but he's having a career year — 20 homers over 119 games — and his barrel rate has been a career high. I have the true odds here 100 points lower, making this a great bet.

Shea Langeliers (+300)
at Twins (SP: RHP Bailey Ober)

Shea Langeliers has been on an absolute tear, with 13 homers over the past month. He's one of the hottest hitters in baseball and gets a great matchup vs. Bailey Ober, who has been a great matchup for righty power this season, giving up a high 1.54 HR/9, and owns a career 1.63 HR/9 against righties.
I have the true odds here around +250, making this a good bet.

Elly De La Cruz (+625)
at Angels (SP: LHP Yusei Kikuchi)

Yusei Kikuchi has been better at suppressing power this season, but has been much worse since the All-Star Break and still owns a 1.46 HR/9 to righties this season. He's historically been one of the best matchups in the league for righty power and Elly De La Cruz is a solid power bat with 19 homers on the season.
Given the great matchup, I have the true odds over 100 points lower today, making this a great EV bet.
