MLB Home Run Picks for May 18
Riley Greene (+470)
at Blue Jays (SP: RHP Jose Berrios)
The spot is great, and so is Riley Greene, but the odds don't reflect that at all.
Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios has been great in his career against left-handed pitching, allowing close to a 1.5 HR/9.
Greene has been great to start the season with 11 home runs entering Sunday.
I have the true odds on Greene under +400.
Spencer Torkelson (+520)
at Blue Jays (SP: RHP Jose Berrios)
I prefer to target lefties against Berrios, but the odds on Spencer Torkelson are far too good.
Berrios historically has been an average matchup for right-handed hitters, but he's been crushed by righties this season, posting a 1.88 HR/9.
Torkelson has 12 HRs on the season and may go for 40.
I have the true odds nearly 100 points lower.
Mookie Betts (+475)
vs Angels (SP: LHP Yusei Kikuchi)
Mookie Betts' underlying power numbers are a little worrisome this season, but the spot is too good.
He gets a matchup against Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, who has been prone to getting hit hard by right-handers in his career.
The wind is blowing out at Dodger Stadium and temperatures are in the 70s today.
I have the true odds for Betts around +400 today.
Trent Grisham (+700)
vs Mets (SP: LHP David Peterson)
The odds are absolutely ridiculous for Trent Grisham on Sunday Night Baseball.
