Minnesota is squarely in the mix for a playoff spot, with a huge series against the Guardians looming. There’s no better way to start a series than by handing the ball to an ace — and the Twins have one in Joe Ryan.

Ryan is enjoying his best MLB season, posting a 2.85 ERA with a 3.20 xERA and a 2.78 FIP. He's proven to be one of the premier strikeout pitchers in baseball, tallying over 10 K/9 for the third time in five seasons. The biggest change for Ryan? The home run ball isn't hurting him as much, cutting his HR/9 nearly in half, from 1.37 to 0.82.

Tanner Bibee will look to outduel Ryan in this one, and he's coming in on a heater of his own. Since the calendar flipped to June, Bibee has a 2.86 ERA in his last seven starts (44 1/3 innings). I don't view it as sustainable, as his xERA is 4.52 and his FIP is 4.83 in that span.

The analytics aren't fond of Bibee due to his lack of strikeouts. He has a 5.53 K/9 in his last 44 innings and is below league average in whiff rate, chase rate, and strikeout rate. Bibee will need the Twins to hit into some outs to get through this one.

I'm rolling with the better pitcher and offense in this matchup. Cleveland needs a low-scoring game to have a chance to win this one, but I'm not sure Bibee can hold down this Twins offense long enough to pull out the win.

Pick: Twins ML (-150 or Better)

Jacob Misiorowski Under 8.5 Strikeouts

Milwaukee enters this game as the overwhelming favorite to win the NL Central after a dominant first half.

Because they have built up so much division padding, they have the luxury of focusing more on October preparation than immediate regular-season urgency.

This is crucial because their rotation is currently in a bit of turmoil. However, Cy Young front-runner Jacob Misiorowski makes his first appearance since July 7 in this spot.

Coming off a two-week layoff, the Brewers are expected to prioritize his long-term health for the second half of the season over pushing him for regular-season accolades.

Look for Milwaukee to manage his workload carefully.

Pick: Jacob Misiorowski Under 8.5 Strikeouts

Jordan Walker Over 1.5 HRR

Walker's breakout season carried into the All-Star break as he participated in the Home Run Derby for the first time.

He made himself no friends in Philadelphia when he homered on his final six swings to steal the title away from Kyle Schwarber.

Walker has 22 home runs on the year, but he has not homered since the second half started, but that does not mean that he has stopped hitting.

With a hit in all three games against the Diamondbacks, Walker has now recorded a hit in 18 of his past 20 games and enters tonight's game on an 11-game hitting streak.

In that span, Walker is hitting .300 with four home runs and a .926 OPS while scoring 17 runs and driving in 18 runs.

Walker is hitting .286 against right-handed pitching this season and will face Jose Soriano tonight.

Soriano looked like he might run away with the Cy Young Award in April. However, over his last 15 starts, he has a 4.83 ERA and giving up essentially a hit per inning, which has resulted a 1.52 WHIP.

He has given up three earned runs in five of his last seven starts.

Given the traffic that Soriano has allowed lately, Walker will have a good chance to extend his hitting streak. However, he is also essentially averaging a run scored and an RBI per game of late.

As a result, he has recorded two hits, runs, and runs batted in nine times in his last 10 games and 15 of 18 games while averaging three per game. This line a steal with those hit rates.

Pick: Jordan Walker Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI
