Fresh off a road series in Colorado, the Dodgers are feeling the after-effects of Coors Field, where teams often go cold at the plate immediately after a few games in the thin air.
This high-powered offense has been limited to one run in two games against the Giants. We just saw Tyler Mahle shut them down for seven scoreless innings, and he had been struggling mightily before this outing.
The Dodgers will try to avoid the sweep against their division rivals as they send out Tyler Glasnow, who is off to a terrific start this season, including a 2.62 xERA and a 24.2 K-BB%.
They'll need another strong outing from him to help overcome these ice-cold bats.
San Francisco Giants
The Giants are quietly playing good baseball lately, winning five of their last six games. They've completely shut down the Dodgers in this series, with Ryan Walker re-establishing himself as the closer with two consecutive saves.
They've got a great outing from Mahle in the last game, while Landen Roupp was able to overcome command issues in the previous matchup.
San Francisco will send out its ace, Logan Webb, for this game. The veteran righty hasn't been himself so far this year, as highlighted by his 4.42 xERA.
However, he's gone at least six innings in four consecutive starts. With the Dodgers scuffling at the plate, we could see a strong outing from Webb here.
It could look similar to his last home start, where he held the Mets to one earned run over seven innings.
Dodgers vs Giants MLB Pick, Best Bet
While I'm a big Glasnow fan, I think we have to fade the Dodgers right now. They're struggling at the plate, while the Giants are playing their best baseball of the season.
With Webb on the mound, I love getting San Francisco at a +130 price.
I know most are hesitant to take a team to sweep a series, especially against the best team in MLB, but this is the case where we're getting a good price on a home dog with their ace on the mound.
