Astros vs Tigers MLB Betting Preview

Editor's Note: This written pick is a transcription from today's episode of the Payoff Pitch Podcast.

My first 80-grade bet of the day is on the Houston Astros at around +107. I like them down to -106; I actually make them closer to -115.

I also like the Over 8.5 in this game to about -110.

Lance Barksdale is behind the plate tonight, which is one of the biggest offensive umpire boosts of the day. Keider Montero is also a guy whose fastball gets crushed, and this Tigers lineup is excellent in terms of selectivity and power.

The Astros have a bit more contact in their lineup, and I think Arrighetti has a decent chance to be effective early, get some strikeouts, and pitch out of some jams, as long as he keeps the ball in the yard.

Either way, I like both the Astros side and the Over.

There’s also a slight weather boost in this game.

Pick: Astros ML (-106 or Better) | Over 8.5 (-110 or Better)
