The Los Angeles Dodgers look to close the door on a three-game sweep of the New York Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball, sending ace Tyler Glasnow to complete the job. The Yanks will counter with breakout rookie sensation Luis Gil, hoping to avoid any further damage.
The Yankees open as an underdog yet again tonight despite their ace taking the mound. Can New York mitigate the damage despite Juan Soto remaining out?
Here's my Dodgers vs Yankees +1200 same game parlay for Sunday Night Baseball, which includes picks for Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and the Yankees moneyline.
Remember to bet responsibly — this is a long shot for a reason.
Dodgers vs Yankees Parlay: Sunday Night Baseball Picks
- Tyler Glasnow Over 17.5 Outs (-120)
- Yankees ML (+105)
- Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
Parlay Odds: +1200 (bet365)
Tyler Glasnow has gone over this number in 8-of-11 starts this season (73%) and the key here is the loss of Juan Soto. Losing that integral middle-of-the-lineup piece is a huge plus when it comes to both pitch count and escaping jams.
Glasnow is one of the best pitchers in baseball and the optics show it. He has a 2.40 xERA and his xBA is down at .192 — the lowest since 2021. His strikeout rate remains elite and opponents are having a tough time rallying against the right-hander.
Gavin Stone found himself in a bases-loaded jam falling just short of six innings last night, but Yoshi Yamamoto cleared this number in the first game sans-Soto. The Yankees backend of the lineup has struggled down the stretch here and Glasnow should have no issue pushing through without a limited pitch count.
This one takes a page out of Action Network MLB expert Sean Zerillo’s notebook. He has the Yankees avoiding the sweep tonight behind Gil and co.
It does feel like the Yankees are becoming undervalued in life without Soto. Yes, they’ve lost two straight, but the games were closer than the box score indicates. The series opener went to extra innings — neither team scored a run through nine innings! Then, last night, the Yankees left the bases loaded in the sixth before the game completely unraveled in the 8th and 9th.
Gil has been unstoppable this season, holding both lefties and righties to a batting average of .130 or lower. Oh, and neither side slugs the ball at all. Gil ranks in the top 5% of all pitchers in hard-hit rate and xBA (.175).
Glasnow ranks around league average in barrels allowed (7.1%) and has shown some issues limiting hard-hits (39.6%) this season. While he certainly has the elite stuff to escape jams, he’s always had a home run problem. That comes with the territory of being a power pitcher.
In his last five starts, Glasnow has allowed four home runs. Gil has allowed just one in that same span and has allowed three or less hits in all but one of those.
This should be priced closer to a coin flip, and it boosts our parlay odds a bit more than usual with slight reverse correlation to leg-1, so let’s do it.
This leg, though, combined with the reverse correlation of the Yankees ML pick, helps boosts the odds north of 12-to-1 here. Shohei Ohtani has had just one hit this series, but we all know how dominant of a hitter he is.
The rookie sensation squares off against one of the best hitters in baseball tonight — and we’ve already seen Aaron Judge do plenty of damage. Now, it’s Ohtani’s turn to make an impact. He ranks in the top 2% of all hitters in xBA (.332), xSLG (.631), barrels (18.5%) and hard-hit rate (60%).
We saw Paul Skenes strike out Ohtani on three straight heaters before Ohtani exacted revenge with a deep home run. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same thing happen here.
Gil has been as elite as they come, but if you can put the ball in play, chances are, it’s in the air (31st in GB%). There aren’t many hitters I’d be confident in when facing a player like Gil, but Ohtani is definitely among the top of the list.
