After a dramatic comeback win on Monday night, the Brewers fell short of their ultimate goal of making the playoffs.

On Tuesday night, the Brewers look to shake off the disappointment and end their season on a high note.

The Diamondbacks are also looking to end their season on a high note, as they have fully leaned into their youth movement in the second half. Zac Gallen, who made a late push for Cy Young consideration, will take the hill against Eric Lauer.

Both teams are playing for pride at this point, but this could be a very fun contest between two squads that have been very competitive in the second half.

Can Diamondbacks' Gallen Continue Brilliant Second Half?

With wins Tuesday and Wednesday night, the Diamondbacks could end the second half with a .500 record. Although that doesn't sound like that big of an achievement, it could be a good statement for a young team looking to take a step forward in 2023.

Gallen will make his final start of the season, and he's been absolutely lights out in the second half. He heads into Tuesday night's matchup with a 1.27 ERA, a 1.74 FIP and a 2.52 xFIP in the second half, which is a testament to his dominance.

Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks' offense has struggled against LHP on the road over the past month. They are a left-handed heavy, young lineup, and they do not have strong enough platoons against LHP to match up well.

Additionally, the Diamondbacks' bullpen has been one of the worst in the league this season, and that's especially the case over the past two weeks.

Brewers Have Edge in 'Pen

Lauer gets the start for the Brewers, and he's been a solid home option this season. He's posted a 2.78 ERA, a 3.81 FIP and a 3.64 xFIP at home in 2022, which are all solid-to-above average numbers.

Considering he'll get to face a lefty-heavy Diamondbacks lineup, he may have an edge on Tuesday night.

On the other side, the Brewers' offense has not been able to do a lot against RHP at home over the past couple of weeks.

The Brewers now will have to take on one of the best RHP in MLB, which does not bode well for their offense.

The one distinct difference between the two teams is the Brewers have a considerable edge in the bullpen. Although they haven't been an elite unit, they've still been solidly average over the course of the season, which is leaps and bounds better than the Diamondbacks.

Diamondbacks-Brewers Pick

The Diamondbacks come into Tuesday night's matchup as favorites, and this seems like it could end up being another tight contest.

Gallen is excellent, but there isn't a considerable edge beyond him. Barring a complete game shutout, the Brewers have a really good chance over the full nine innings to cash out as underdogs.

The Brewers' moneyline is still in plus money at some books and should be snagged as long as it's in plus money.

Play them to -110 or better, though.

Pick: Brewers ML +105
