The Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals are a classic matchup in baseball history. These two teams have met in the World Series four times with the Cardinals winning in 1946 and 1967 while the Red Sox won in 2004 and 2013.
The '67 Red Sox team was known as the impossible dream, and it was just that as they lost to the Cardinals in a seven game classic. In '04, the Red Sox swept the Cardinals, winning the World Series for the first time since 1918. The Boston bullpen has blown both games in this current series with St. Louis so far, but will it fare any better in primetime under the lights of Sunday Night Baseball?
The Parlay (+518):
- Corey Kluber Under 4.5 Strikeouts

Same Game Parlay – Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Corey Kluber Under 4.5 Strikeouts
Boston's Kluber has a 5.73 xFIP, 18% Strikeout Rate and an even worse 6.29 ERA so far this season.
However, the Cardinals offense has also struggled this season as St. Louis is 25th in all of baseball by averaging 4.00 runs per game on the road.
Something has to give here, and I think it'll be Kluber. He isn't working deep into games as he's completed six innings in just one of his seven starts.
Most recently, Kluber struck out just one batter in his last start against Philadelphia. The Cardinals don't have a strikeout-heavy lineup either as their projected lineup combined has just a 21% Strikeout Rate against right-handed pitching this season.
Rafael Devers 2+ Total Bases
Miles Mikolas has a 4.30 xFIP this season, but he's struggled with power prevention against left-handed batters, with a .219 ISO against lefties this year.
There's no more dangerous left-handed hitter in Boston's lineup than Rafael Devers. Devers has a .292 ISO and just a 17% Strikeout Rate against right-handed pitching this season.
Mikolas is striking out left-handed batters with a 23% Strikeout Rate, but he has also allowed 39% fly balls. I bet Devers makes contact here for extra-bases, but two singles will also do the trick for the second leg of this same game parlay.
Cardinals Moneyline
The Cardinals seem to be snapping out of their funk in Boston this weekend. St. Louis has had a pair of gritty, come from behind wins against the Boston bullpen. Clearly, they have the advantage late in the game.
If the Boston left-handed bats get to Mikolas early, that might not matter here, but I think we still have to give them the edge early in the game as well because Mikolas has been that much better than Kluber this year. Ride with the Cardinals to get the sweep in Boston in the final leg of this same game parlay at +518 odds.
