Braves vs Reds MLB Betting Preview

Nick Lodolo returned to the mound this month after starting the season on the IL with a blister on his throwing hand. So far, the results haven’t been good, as he’s allowed 13 earned runs across 21 frames.

Unfortunately, this might be Lodolo’s toughest test of the season. The Braves boast a top-five lineup.

Meanwhile, Spencer Strider is starting to look like his old self. He may never throw as hard as he used to (95 MPH average fastball velocity), but he’s mixing in more curveballs and changeups to keep hitters off balance.

Regardless, whatever he’s doing is working, as he’s running a 3.46 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.

The Braves will have the better lineup and better starting pitcher in this battle, so give me Atlanta ML.

Braves vs Reds Pick, Betting Analysis

I also think Michael Harris is in for a big day.

Lodolo actually has posted reverse splits this season (.437 wOBA allowed to lefties, .386 wOBA allowed to righties), and Harris already has smacked a triple off Lodolo in a previous head-to-head meeting.

Harris is in scorching form, boasting a 154 wRC+ in May.

The Braves should have plenty of ducks on the pond on Sunday, which should provide Harris plenty of opportunities to clear his HRR line.

Picks:

  • Braves ML (-134)
  • Michael Harris Over 1.5 HRR (-130)
