After taking two of three in Arlington, the Giants will return home to face the Rangers' nemesis — the Houston Astros.
The Astros lost in walk-off fashion yesterday but still took two of three from the Angels. They'll continue their California road trip tonight, this time in San Francisco.
There will be a pair of young arms opposing each other with Spencer Arrighetti and Kyle Harrison as the starters. That may lead to a fairly high-scoring game.
Here's my Astros vs Giants same game parlay for Monday, June 10.
Remember to bet responsibly — this is a long shot for a reason.
Astros vs Giants Same Game Parlay
- Over 8 (-110)
- Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+114)
- Heliot Ramos Over 1.5 Total Bases (+146)
Parlay Odds: +625 (Caesars)
Just to illustrate the start that Arrighetti got off to this season: He's 4-1 with a 2.00 ERA over his past five starts, yet he still has 5.79 ERA.
Now, he's been a bit unlucky (his xERA is 4.46), but that's still in the 28th percentile of qualified pitchers.
Additionally, despite his improvement over the last month, the over has hit in three of his past five outings.
His own offense has provided him plenty of run support during that span, as the Astros have scored at least eight runs in the three games that went over. Eight runs tonight from the Astros at least gets us a push on the total, whether the Giants score or not.
Additionally, the Astros have scored at least five runs in six of their eight games this month.
Tonight, they'll face Harrison, who enters with a 4.15 ERA and 4.68 xERA. Harrison has been one of the Giants' top prospects since he was taken in the third round of the 2020 MLB Entry Draft, emerging as their No. 1 prospect last season.
However, at times, he's needed to be an escape artist with all the traffic he's surrendered this season. Harrison has a 1.39 WHIP, and he enters this start having allowed 20 hits in 11 innings over his last two outings.
In that span, Harrison has walked just one batter. However, he walked at least two batters in his previous five starts, including two with five.
He's walked at least one batter in eight of his last 10 starts, while Arrighetti has walked at least two batters in each of his last 10 starts.
If there are less hits than expected, it's possible that we see a few runs pushed across from walks.
Lastly, the over is 35-29 in Giants games this season and has hit in five of their eight games this month.
Yordan Alvarez has already enjoyed his time in California over the last few days. He totaled three bases on Friday before exploding for eight on Saturday.
On Saturday, he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a two-run home run off another left-hander in Tyler Anderson, his 13th of the year.
Left-handed pitching hasn't phased Alvarez, as he's hitting .337 with five doubles, four home runs, 11 runs batted in and a .916 OPS this season.
Harrison is one left-hander that he's yet to face; left-handers are hitting .274 against him.
Additionally, more times than not, I'll give Alvarez the edge in most matchups — particularly when he's entering tonight's game with a hit in eight of his last 10 games. He's recorded two total bases in six of those games with four home runs and five doubles.
Oracle Park's dimensions can make it tough for left-handed hitters at times. However, if there were odds for anyone to hit a ball into McCovey Cove, Alvarez would likely be the favorite.
Heliot Ramos went hitless in the Giants' series finale against the Rangers, but he's provided a jolt to the offense this season.
The 24-year old is hitting .314, and he has a hit in seven of his last 10 games. He's -210 to find the hit column tonight, and as I was crafting this parlay, I thought that would be a "safe" leg, considering how hot he's been.
Feel free to water him down to one hit/total base. However, Ramos recorded at least two total bases in each of the last six games that he's recorded a hit. He's done so with authority, as he has four home runs and a double during that span.
Much of the damage did come on a road trip. However, he's still hitting .310 at home and also .299 against right-handed pitching.
While Ramos has racked up a ton of extra-base hits recently, he has six multi-hit games in his last 10 and several singles. If needed, he can get this line with two singles, as well.
At +150, we're getting a generous price on him recording two bases, and as a result, this parlays sits at +625 with just three legs.
However, if you want a little more juice, the odds jump to +1589 on FanDuel by taking Alvarez and Ramos for three total bases. Ramos is averaging 2.7 total bases over his last 10 games while Alvarez is averaging 3.2.
Also, both players have at least four games with three total bases over the past week and a half.
