Odds as of Friday morning.
The Yankees have already clinched a playoff spot, but the last remaining games on their schedule should be anything but meaningless.
Aaron Judge is one home run away from breaking the AL single-season record, after hitting his 61st earlier this week. He has seven games left to get to 62 — and you can bet on him doing it.
Odds on Judge to homer tonight against the Orioles are hovering around the low +200s, about 33% implied odds. Despite those low odds, sportsbooks are betting you bet on him anyway — as historic milestones have made his home run prop historically popular in recent weeks.
In the eight games leading up to Judge's record-tying blast, Caesars regularly saw 50x more action on Judge's home run prop than any other player, according to Eric Biggio, Lead Baseball Trader at Caesars Sportsbook.
"The handle we'd have on him to hit a HR or not even matched the handle we'd have on a lower-level MLB game itself," said Biggio. "We'd expect the momentum to continue through 62."
At BetMGM, where you can bet "Yes" (+210) or "No" (-300) on 'Will Judge Homer Tonight?', 98% of bets and 96% of money is on "Yes".
Judge has homered nine times in 15 games against the Orioles this season and has a favorable matchup Friday night.
Jordan Lyles will start on the mound for Baltimore tonight, pitching on short rest. He's given up two home runs to Judge in 14 at bats this season.
First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET.
