Thursday’s slate is one of the trickiest of the tournament for goalscorer bettors and the market knows it.
As we hit the final round of group stage matches, the odds have gotten ugly. Value that was sitting there two weeks ago has been squeezed out. Players facing weaker opposition are now priced so short that even backing reliable scorers barely moves the needle.
It’s essential to wait for lineups today before placing any bets. Germany, already qualified, may rotate against a defensively elite Ecuador side who are also fighting for their World Cup lives. Who starts? Nobody knows yet.
The USA, confirmed group winners, will almost certainly shuffle the deck against an eliminated Türkiye side. Throwing money at goalscorer props without confirmed lineups in those spots is asking for trouble.
So today we’re doing things differently. Two assist plays on the most prolific chance creators at this World Cup in games in which their teams should score multiple goals. Plus a pair of goalscorer plays in Group F’s most important match, where the motivation of avoiding France in the next round will put the attackers on alert.
Read on for my goal scorer picks and World Cup player props for Thursday, June 25.
World Cup Goal Scorer Picks Today
Ivory Coast vs Curaçao Goal Scorer Pick

Ivory Coast Anytime Assist Pick: Yan Diomande (+230)
The 19-year-old has the eyes of the world on him, with several top clubs circling for his signature this summer.
Diomande created seven chances for his teammates across Ivory Coast’s opening two matches against Ecuador and Germany, which put him among the top chance creators at the tournament.
He registered 9 assists across all competitions for RB Leipzig in 2025-26. Ivory Coast need a win to secure at least second place in Group E, and they are facing a Curaçao side who gave up 7 goals to Germany and have allowed a staggering 27 shots on target across their two matches.
Diomande will have acres of space to create and show off his talent. A +230 line for an assist on a player who creates chances at this rate, in a game Ivory Coast should win comfortably, is tremendous value.
Netherlands vs Tunisia Goal Scorer Pick
| Netherlands Odds | ||

+2.5 -120 | 3.5 100o / -125u | +2200 |
The Netherlands Anytime Assist Pick: Denzel Dumfries (+290)
The most prolific assisting defender at this World Cup and it’s not close. Dumfries became the first defender in World Cup history to provide 2 assists in 2 different matches at the same tournament. That took his career World Cup assist tally to 4, equalling the Dutch all-time record.
Against Sweden, both of Gakpo’s 2nd half goals came directly from Dumfries crosses. He’s absolutely elite at bombing down the right side with overlapping runs and slinging crosses into the box.
Now he gets Tunisia, a side that has already been eliminated and has conceded 9 goals in 2 matches. Opta gives Netherlands an 83% chance of winning this match, and the Dutch are looking to cement the top spot in Group F.
At +290 for yet another assist from the tournament’s most dangerous attacking wing-back, this number is a gift.
Sweden vs Japan Goal Scorer Picks

Sweden Anytime Goal Scorers: Alexander Isak (+235) and Viktor Gyökeres (+220)
Split a unit between these two. They are equally likely to score, equally dangerous, and equally essential to Sweden’s mission today.
A draw gets Sweden through, but as a third-place team, and that means France in the round of 32. A win, assuming Netherlands handle Tunisia, locks Sweden into second place and out of France’s bracket entirely.
Japan are doing the exact same math. A loss sends them third and straight into Les Bleus. That mutual desperation to finish second is what opens this game up, and when it opens up, Isak and Gyökeres become the most dangerous players on the field.
Both players tallied in their opening match against Tunisia, and when Sweden score they’re usually involved.
Group F has produced 20 goals across 4 games, making it by far the highest-scoring group at the tournament. Both teams will attack. Both teams will create. This game has goals written all over it.
Isak at +235 and Gyökeres at +220 — one unit split between two of the Premier League’s best strikers.
