Sun vs Fever WNBA Best Bet
By Joe Dellera
The Sun take on the Fever on Wednesday night, and I’m targeting Alyssa Thomas.
The Sun have an uncanny ability to muck things up for their opponents on the defensive side of the ball while playing a bruising style of offense that attacks from the inside-out.
Thomas is their engine. She averages 11.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game this season. In three games against Indiana, she’s averaged 14.7 points and 14 rebounds.
She’s had spikes in both scoring and rebounding, though, so I want to target the combo prop.
Her points+rebounds line is set at 19.5, and she’s exceeded that in each game this season and in six-of-seven overall against the Fever since last season.
I’ll back her to exceed 19.5 points+rebounds once again in a strong matchup. I’d play this at 20.5, as well.
Pick: Alyssa Thomas Over 19.5 Points+Rebounds |

Liberty vs Sparks WNBA Best Bet
By Joe Dellera
The Liberty 1Q wagon continues tonight. They're the best 1Q team in the WNBA with a +20.5 Net Rating. They demolish their opponents at the start of the game.
The Liberty have played the Sparks three times this season and won the 1Q in two of those games while securing the full-game victory in all three. They're a far better team than the Sparks.
The biggest edge for the Liberty is they generally play their starters for most of the 1Q, which is arguably the best rotation in the WNBA.
I’ll back the Liberty to once again start off strong.
Pick: Liberty 1Q -4.5
Lynx vs Mercury WNBA Best BEt
By Joe Dellera
The Lynx are the second-best 1Q team to the Liberty with a Net Rating of +16.1. They're also a team that starts off by stifling their opponents.
These teams have played three times, and the Lynx captured the 1Q and the full-game in two of the three.
The Mercury have been a tougher test for their opponents than their 16-15 record would reflect; however, I still think they're being overvalued relative to Minnesota.
On the season, the Lynx have a +9.0 Net Rating compared to Phoenix’s -2.0. While Phoenix is definitely better at home, Minnesota still is 8-5 straight up with the second-best Net Rating on the road.
Minnesota is a better team, and considering it hasn't played since Saturday, we should expect a longer rotation for its elite starting unit to begin this game.
