This article contains predictions for an old game.

The New YorkGiants (0-2) and Cleveland Browns (1-1) will kick off the Sunday afternoon slate of NFL Week 3. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on FOX, and the game can be streamed on platforms like YouTube TV.

The Browns are 6.5-point favorites with the game total set at 38, although you can find 38.5 in the market. Cleveland is a -300 favorite on the moneyline, while New York is +240 to pull off the upset.

New York is 0-2 against the spread and couldn't have started the season much worse. Daniel Jones has been mediocre at best, and New York's hopes for the season already appear to be on life support. The Browns, meanwhile, bounced back with an 18-13 win last week in Jacksonville. Deshaun Watson showed signs of improvement that Cleveland will be hoping he can build off.

Let's get into my Giants vs. Browns predictions and NFL picks and predictions for Week 3.

  • Giants vs. Browns spread: Browns -6.5
  • Giants vs. Browns over/under: 38.5 points
  • Giants vs. Browns moneyline: Browns -300, Giants +240
  • Giants vs. Browns picks: Giants to cover; Under 38.5

My Browns vs. Giants best bets are on the spread and total. If we're going to bet the underdog, we're also going to be on this low over/under. For all of your NFL bets, be sure to find the best lines by using our live NFL odds page.

Spread

With the line having the Browns favored by nearly a touchdown, I'm betting on the Giants getting points on the road in Week 3.

Moneyline

I do not recommend a pick on either moneyline at the current odds.

Over/Under

The under is in play here with two stout defenses facing inconsistent quarterbacks. I'll be betting the total, too.

My Picks: Giants +6.5 & Under 38.5

New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns NFL Week 3 Preview

By Matt Trebby

This game will be a tale of two quarterbacks facing strong defensive units.

On the field, Deshaun Watson improved in Week 2, although that doesn't mean he was good. Watson averaged 3.8 yards per attempt and threw two interceptions for a 51.1 quarterback rating in Week 1 against the Cowboys. Last week in a win over the Jaguars, he had a 7.8 rating and averaged 5.5 yards per attempt.

The Browns only scored one more point in Week 2 than they did in the loss to Dallas, so what changed? The defense gave up 20 fewer points.

Cleveland has an elite front seven led by Myles Garrett that did enough to contain Jacksonville. The Jaguars averaged more yards per play and has more passing and rushing yards than Cleveland. The difference in the game may have been the Browns going 3-for-3 on fourth-down conversions.

The Giants, meanwhile, are 0-2 and seem hopeless this season. Daniel Jones was awful in Week 1 against the Vikings (4.4 yards per attempt, two interceptions, sacked five times) but improved against the Commanders. Still, New York lost.

Jones has completed 54.3% of his pass attempts this season and only run for 47 yards. If the Giants are going to turn this season around, it will be because he returns to his 2022 form.

The Browns defense is clearly the best unit in this game. Both teams have great defensive lines and are facing suspect offensive lines. Combine that with two bad quarterbacks, and this game just screams “Bet the under!”

There are a lot of trends here that also say “Bet the Giants!”

Since 2010, when an 0-2 team faces a team that is not 0-2 in Week 3, it’s 53-32-2 (62%) against the spread (ATS). When facing a 1-1 opponent like the Browns, 0-2 teams are 36-16-1 (69%) ATS.

Trends also say you should bet an 0-2 team when offensive might be at a premium. Since 2010, 0-2 teams are 15-6 (71%) ATS when the total is below 42. Also, when facing an opponent that is averaging 18 or fewer points per game, 0-2 teams are 11-3 (79%) ATS.

If you’re feeling frisky, 0-2 teams that are road underdogs are 8-14 straight-up since 2010. That makes the Giants’ +250 money line look more appealing than it did on first glance.

I love the under here, and trends also say to smash the Giants.

Pick: Giants +6.5 & Under 38.5

Betting Trends

  • 56% of bets and 42% of the money are on the Browns to cover the spread.
  • 65% of bets and 33% of the money are on the over.
  • 91% of bets and 83% of the money on the moneyline are on the Browns.
