Blue Raiders 2025 Schedule & Betting Odds
Middle Tennessee 2025 Season Preview
Middle Tennessee is coming off a disappointing 3-9 season (2-6 in Conference USA), with its only wins coming against lower-tier opponents. Head coach Derek Mason went 3-9 in his first year and holds a career record of 30-64 after a rough tenure at Vanderbilt .
The Blue Raiders return 13 starters (6 on offense, 7 on defense), including key contributors like QB Nicholas Vattiato (3,092 yards, 16 TDs) and LB Alex Mitchell, a Chattanooga transfer who notched 101 tackles last year. Despite that, the team is ranked No. 134 out of 136 FBS programs in ESPN’s Football Power Index.
Mason has his work cut out for him again in 2025. The Blue Raiders hope since half of their starters are returning from 2024 they can have more success this season.
As for winning the C-USA, Middle Tennessee is set at +850 to win the conference. They are expected to be a lot better in 2025 than they were in 2024. Let's look at how to bet on Middle Tennessee for the 2025 season.
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Point Spreads
With spread bets, if a team covers, bets on that team pay off. Spread bets rely on the margin of victory to decide the bet, and they look like this:
- Middle Tennessee +3 (-110)
- New Mexico State -3 (-110)
With a 13-7 loss, underdog MTSU failed to win the game and also failed to cover the 3-point spread. The favored team — New Mexico State in this case — needed to win only by 3.5 points (or, essentially 4) to win the bet. Had the Aggies won the game by just 3 points, the spread bet would've pushed, and both sides of the bet would've been refunded.
Middle Tennessee Over/Unders
Another popular bet on college football is an over/under, or totals, bet. With this bet, rather than which team wins or loses or the amount of the victory, you’re wagering on how many points are scored by both teams in the game.
Betting under 52.0 for the game against Florida International that finished with a 40-6 score was a winning bet in the past. The total points scored (46) was less than the number oddsmakers set the total. For an "over" bet to hit, you’d need 52.5 points (53) or more combined points. Had the game finished at exactly 52 points, all bets would've been refunded.
Middle Tennessee Moneylines
If wins and losses aren’t just the most important thing, but the only thing, then moneyline bets are for you. Moneyline bets are wagers on which team will win the game outright. However, markets adjust the odds based on whether the Blue Raiders are expected to win the game (making them the “favorites”) or expected to lose (“underdogs”).
Favored teams – those with minus odds – pay out less than the amount bet on them; underdogs (plus sign) pay out more. For example, the Blue Demons winning as -250 favorites vs. UTEP would require $250 to be wagered to win $100, but if they’re +250 underdogs, you need to risk just $100 to win $250.
Middle Tennessee Props
Proposition, or prop, bets are wagers on a player's stat line for a game. They're a great entry into betting if you're a fan of fantasy football or specific players on a team.
Other than rushing yards, you could bet on MTSU players to score a touchdown, their receiving yards, longest field goal made, and more.
Middle Tennessee Futures
Future bets are wagers on things that happen over the course of the season, including the total number of wins Middle Tennessee has or a player to win an award at the end of the year. You could even take a long-shot bet on the Blue Raiders to win the national title (+100000) for example.
Other Middle Tennessee futures for 2025 include their odds to win Conference USA (+850), make the playoffs (+10000), and more.
